Evening everyone, I just discovered this website and thought I'd join. Hope ya'll don't mind.

I'm sitting here "watching" the State of the Union address (Hey, it's in High Def) and decided to introduce myself. I'm a sophomore at the Pennsylvania State University (PSU!) the very best college in the entire United States . I'm majoring in Electrical Engineering. If you're wondering what my username means I'm a diehard Pittsburgh Penguins fan, hockey is my #1 passion in life.

I discovered Firefly and Serenity last week. I was tipped off to the show by my boss when I asked him if he had seen the Sarah Connor Chronicles and I told him how much I enjoyed Summer Glau. He told me I should check out Firefly.

So I rented Serenity and borrowed the episode collection DVD, and I'm hooked! I've been doing everything I can to find out as much as possible about this show, both past and future. I'm hoping and praying for a sequel. If it happens, it happens, but it's good to know the 'verse still lives on. What would also make me happy is a Blu Ray release for my shiny PS3.

Well the American Hockey League all star game is on and one of the guys from the local team is playing. Hope to talk with ya'll some more.

Howdy ShinyPen welcome to our spot in the verse. Yepper lots of stuff going on at this site. A lot of folk come here but there’s room for plenty more. If you’ve just seen Firefly in the last week or so then you are very new to the Joss verse. I ain’t been here very long myself (2 years) and yes we are hoping for more. But we can’t just sit still and hope it will happen. The powers that be need some nudging in that direction. So shout, make lots of noise and bring everybody you know to the FF/Serenity universe. Your boss must be a browncoat. Wish my boss were, alas I work for the Alliance, though I am still a browncoat. They can’t take the sky from us and they never will.

Everyone here seems so nice and I know you and I both will be glad we found this site.
We just discovered Firefly and Serenity about 6 weeks ago. We love seeing all the comments and the usage of the lines from the show and movie.

ShinyPensfan87 and Sbar just a little info for you, there are a ton of FF/Serenity sites on the web and lots of SHINY browncoats that belong to the forums. Most folk here also belong to other boards.As Mal has said, “There’s a list of recommendations as long as my leg”. I belong to several myself. Another board that you might consider joining is the Universal Forums Board. Here’s a link:

These are the people that can bring us a BDS (Big Damn Sequel). There’s a push going on right now to boost our numbers over there and to show the Big U that we are serious about getting more FF/Serenity. There are some SHINY people over there as well.

Thanks for the Browncoat and the other info everyone! I'm checking out the UHD forum right now. I'm glad to say that I do have that Channel and I'll be enjoying it on a 97" front projection TV. It'll be like sitting in a movie theater.

I'm thinking about picking up an HD-DVD player just for Serenity. We'll see if prices come down any more. $150 is still a bit too much for a player that I won't need once HD-DVD dies and Blu Ray takes control.

There will be...but it will come out a month or two after the last comic...

Hi and welcome, SPF87 (boy, you must really burn easily!)

I just ordered an HD DVD player. Way I conjure, I can watch my Serenity HD, plus it'll upconvert my regular DVDs to play on my new 1080p HDTV. Later, after the BluRay stuff gets cheaper, I can convert over. I probably won't buy many (any?) other HD DVDs.

I found a Toshiba HD-A30 for $140 (shipping included). Hope it gets here soon!

I already have a Blu-Ray player (PS3). And my limited college student income is stretched as is. I bought the Serenity CE today, I loved the cast commentary. And the DTS audio is just amazing.
