Okay, compared to Doctor Who & Torchwood, the science in EUReKA is MIT-level accurate!

I had the rare privilege of meeting Jaime Paglia at the Boston TV Party last month. Been watching Eureka on DVD ever since - certainly appeals to our love of quirky, amusing sci-fi shows, doesn't it?

If Jaime and I ever cross paths again I have GOT to ask him where he and the gang come up with so many mind-bending plot devices.

I love Eureka! I was never able to watch it much of an order but even with the overall story (especially in season 2) I can still enjoy single eps. Not easy to do for me. I really have to catch some of the eps I've missed.

Op: You're fighting a war you've already lost.
Mal: Yeah, well I'm known for that.

You're meanin' the second season is a bit more sequential than episodic? 'Coz I found the first season episodic for the most part. S.A.R.A.H. was really the only thing I noticed that would make more sense if you'd seen previous episodes. Well, that and the running "How do I get to....?" gag.

Someone at the Boston TV Party took a picture of me and another NEBC with Jaime Paglia and Joss Whedon. I made a motivational poster of it - SOLIDARITY! - to be viewed in the BSR.

Yeah, love the show! Glad I found this thread; hadn't heard of it before, but I have both seasons complete now, and I'm enjoying it immensely. :)

Glad you enjoy it. It and Atlantis are really the only scifi on Scifi that I can actually enjoy. I can't wait for the show to come back. Hopefully the strike will soon come to a favorable(For the writers) end and they can get back to the grind writing witty, smart, thought provoking episodes.

My family and I were going to watch this show, then we moved and never got cable. Found the first season on Netflix, and we love it! Very amusing, smart plots, and of course the premise lends itself to all kinds of fun stories(a plethora of the exec dude - where'd that get fun?)
Can't wait to get the rest.

Inserting another feather into the NEBCs' hat, Jaime Paglia came to our Shindig last Saturday. We had occasion for a little bit of Q&A, during which I got to ask him about where he comes up with his plot devices. The answer was actually a lot simpler than I expected. As for the strike - he's hoping that the Oscars will make an end of it, but worst-case scenario, it'll last all the way to June when the DGA and SAG contracts come up. But he did tell us to hold out hope that the Oscars spell the end since nobody wants them to be affected by the strike.

Thats one nice bit of reassuring. I love Eureka and all of it's many eccentric characters and plot twists.
