Yesterday, Firefly got more votes than the next two top-ranked shows combined, Xena, 497, and Bonanza, 551, a total of 1,048!

Firefly also got more votes than the next two top-scoring shows combined, Bonanza, 551, and, Jericho, 534, a total of 1,085!

Yesterday, Browncoat votes rose by 115, 10.38%; Xenite votes rose by 15, 3.11%.

I have a couple of messages from the Dark Shadows voters:

"Dark Shadows has now achieved a long awaited goal. We have surpassed Hercules in the number of votes cast, and ascension into the Top 40 tomorrow is assured. Is's been a long hard road and tomorrow we celebrate VICTORY! They said we couldn't do it, or it was pointless, but we trudged on in spite of it. Great job folks.

I would be remiss in not mentioning that we did have a considerable amount of help from Dark Shadows fans who regularly support other shows as their favorite. I hope that Sir Ray will pass on this post to them to publicly say thank you to them for all their aid.

The Dark Shadows voters are now showing their friendly appreciation for the voting help of the Firefly voters by returning the favor, a situation I feel is more natural and easier to encourage than a raw vote trade. It also helps foster some interest among the Vampire Voters in Firefly, which helps to expand the fandom, which is another great benefit of this sort of friendship.

And, once again, my personal thanks for the help! Though I have only been involved in voting for Dark Shadows since August, the organized effort to get into the Top 40 has been going on since November 30, 2006, at which point Dark Shadows had only earned about 500 votes since the poll began in 2001.

After Dark Shadows gets into the Top 40, tomorrow, you will be able to vote for it in the main voting menu, instead, should you so choose.

Rich Labonte has confirmed that he will post our shiny, exclusive, all-day banner when we reach 500,000 votes!

Unfortunately for the Dark Shadows folks, that means their inaugural banner gets bumped to Monday. That's okay, though; they seem pretty philosophical about it.

Just cast the 23rd vote in the past 24 hours (had to take a break to go out to eat). Going all night for the final push for Firefly's 500k and the DS Top 40 breakout.

Wow, I woke up this morning to some exciting news. First off there is about 8" of snow on the ground with several more on the way as it appeares, Firefly received 500K vote, and Dark Shadows in now in the top 40. In order to take ownership of 10% of all votes cast yesterday, we needed to vote 1,071 (1,196) times, of which we fell short by 100 votes. Our share fell to 9.532683% (9.53363%) of all votes ever cast.

Yesterday, our vote percentage fell, a bit. Not to worry, Browncoats. Yesterday was also the second shopping Saturday out from the Christmas holiday, so, most shows took a hit in the votes. We'll get it back on the rise, again!

! There's not a great children's TV show in the top40, and he deserves a spot; we as custodian's for our children's right to quality television have the duty to take him up there... ok... well, maybe I went a bit over the top there, but you get the idea!
