Hmmm, anyone keep a record of what the voting patterns were last year this time? You know, the holiday effect and all. Other than that, are we seeing voter fatigue here? Not among us posters, we be voting. It's the browncoats not present that are of concern.

another vump...suasor..I don't believe we had any records from last year although it's obvious even during spring/fall college breaks we drop some. There were very few voting when I started a little over a year ago, but I don't think we had the statistically minded folk until this past year. I know that doesn't help much but that's what I think, anyway. We haven't really been all 'full speed ahead' since the 'incident' where the site went away for a week.

I just looked; I don't have any records until Dec 01, 2006. I do recall distinctly that folks fell off during the 'Holiday Season', and a fairly big chunk clearly related to college students leaving for home.

The daily and weekly charts at the start of this thread appear to start about October 2006. Am I misreading them or is it that you don't have the raw data from that early?
Just curious. The weekly chart seems to line up with a dip at about Thanksgiving and Christmas...

FlatTop is the keeper-of-obscure-statistics. He's probably the only one who has numbers going that far back.

They do at that. It's hard to tell though, it looks like we got a big boost in late November sometime; difficult to say from the graphs whether that was before or after Thanksgiving. The data certainly seems consistent with a Christmas/New Year drop, though.

Well, I'm a neophyte vumper, compared to most; only been votin' on TV Vote since early July.
I s'pose the fact that EVERYBODY seems to be takin' a big votin' hit, this weekend, should be an indication that it's not just our problem; I just didn't expect the T'giving holiday to hit us, this soon.
Been outta school far too long to remember when the holiday breaks begin VUMP!
