I feel silly that I don't know the answer to this already and that I'm too lazy to look it up myself, but is the guy on the show who's basically her 'Marshall' (Alias reference--her geeky tech guy) the same guy that played Tara's brother in 'Family' on BUFFY?

He looks oddly familiar, and that's the only person I can think of that looks similar.

Kevin Rankin.

He's been in everything from Grey's Anatomy, CSI, Bones, Six Feet Under and the 2003 movie 'Hulk' to name a few things..

Thank you for finding it for me. I can't believe I was right on this. It was just something that was in the back of my mind, bugging me where I'd seen him before.

I don't know if you're into General Hospital or not, but it's pretty much a Buffy and Angel guest actor playground.

These are just the ones I can remember at the moment.

Greg Vaughn (Lucky) played the frat boy Cordy liked in "Reptile Boy"
Tyler Christopher (Nikolas) played a lawyer in "Five By Five"
"James" (Dr. Andy) from the ep. "Heartthrob" was on GH: Night Shift on Soapnet and has made about 4 appearances on GH
Kimberly McCullough (Robin) played the whore who betrayed everyone in "Heart of Gold"

Formerly on GH:
The girl that was attacked in the basement in "Nightmares" played Lydia a few years ago on GH
Emma Caulfield (Anya) played Lorraine on GH before BUFFY
Amber Tamblyn (Janice) played Emily on GH for a few years before BUFFY
