Brian gave a little information at his MySpace:

I went to the IDW panel w/Brian Lynch...but he didn't get a chance to say much or answer many questions because IDW had so many different things to promote they took up the whole hour!
*grumble*grumble*

Thanks Embers!

You're welcome for my half of the news, Shamrock!

I realize how lame this is, trying to care but can't, but I hope he doesn't really kill anybody else. I mean, we lost five major characters in the same year (yes I'm including both Lindsey and Gunn--who had ten minutes at best ). ISN'T THAT ENOUGH?!!

let's see...
Doyle died the first season...so he doesn't count.
1. Cordelia
2. Fred
3. Lindsay
4. Wesley
5. Gunn
yeah...I guess that is five....
but I'm thinking Fred is still lurking in Illyria more than she likes to let on, and maybe Gunn lived (am I too optimistic?)
I'm even hoping that Wesley will be raised from the dead because reanimated zombie Wesley has been a dream of mine for years....

Actually Brian Lynch did say that in fact EVERYONE died in that alley, and that the massacre was seen by a hobo, so the comic book will be about what the hobo saw, and his years of therapy afterwards....
(but maybe he was kidding)

Right, so the idea behind the 12 issues is SOMEBODY ELSE recalling how the rest of our beloved characters died for approximately twelve months? Ooh, count in!

I honestly hope it was a (sick) joke. 'Cuz that might just be the one thing in the entire world that would make me NOT want to read them at all.

Then again, it's GOT to be a joke. They didn't release that much info before the BUFFY comics came out did they?

yeah, Joss is working closely w/Brian Lynch on these Angel comics, and Joss would kill Brian if he gave away anything about the upcoming series....
or, that is, if he gave away anything that was true!
I'm sure Brian feels free to joke around and tell untrue things.

Personally I'm confident that it will be a wonderful series:
#1 it is Joss' stories he wanted to tell before Angel got canceled
#2 Brian Lynch's Spike comics have been really wonderful: funny, exciting, and true to the characters

Wonder if Gunn will still become a vampire, which is what would've happened to him in the tv movies. As much as I don't want him to be evil and/or get killed by his friends, how else can he have survived that final fight of the series?

Well, if vampire Gunn and zombie Wesley are the closest we get to having the characters back, I guess I'm all for it. Doesn't mean I'm completely happy with the fact that they'd both be technically dead or evil, though.

Joss just gave a wonderful interview:
http://www.avclub.com/content/interview/joss_whedon
where he went into some detail about Brian Lynch's upcoming comic:
Angel: After the Fall
I am really excited about this!
