Calhoun: You wish

AURaptor: Couldn't watch it Thursday night, had to record it, and didn't get to watch until Friday night. I've seen most of it, but I fell asleep. Still haven't watched the rest.

Still haven't formed an opinion yet. Glad you liked it though!

Finally finished it last night. Yeah, I think I kind of like it. Something I'd like to see more of, but not necessarily need to see, though.

The best parts of the show were the period detail, costumes, sets and hairstyles. I actually expected to see the Rat Pack walk through a couple of times. And I haven't seen that much smoking on tv in a long, long time.

I'm old enough to remember the time in which this show is set, when there was cigarette advertising on tv, most women were either housewives or just secretaries, and blacks were kept down in the menial job ranks.

It's too soon to tell if any of the characters are worth caring about though, and that is what distinguishes any show of merit, IMO at least.

That's pretty much it for me, too. If I can't care about the characters, I can't care about the show. I'm willing to stick it out and see though.

Did anybody hear that it was apparently the highest rated premiere for an AMC original series EVER?

But how many original series have they had? The only other one I can recall is "Remember WENN."

No idea. Honestly, don't remember watching any series on AMC before. Just happened to catch this info on Whedonesque.
