Not as far as I know. If he has any ancestors with the last name of 'Simpson' it might be possible, though. My great great grandmother Simpson was from England.

As promised, many pics were taken at the wedding and following shindig. Here's a mere handful of them, with explanations where possible. 
This was the view from our accommodation. It seems nice, except that with my genetic traits and subcultural choices, beaches and I do not mix. 
Me, my sister, cousin Amanda, cousin Josh 
The bride and groom, plus the bride's family 
Dad, my sister and me (and yes, I wore my HoB suit to the wedding, but swapped the gloves for a 76th unit crest pin) 
Me, Uncle Harry (multitasking drinks), and my sister 
My sis, the bride and m'self 
My sis, cousin Amanda (who was the matron of honour) and m'self (note a pattern here?) 
Dad and his siblings (including the mother of the bride), aka Generation 1 
The bride and her siblings and cousins, aka Generation 2 (except for the youngest in the pic, who's sitting on her mother's knee).
