I'm still laughing, shame on me, but they wrote the article like it was an joke.
This is what made me get going

Isn't that bizarre? don't get me wrong, i love animals, they truly are God's defenseless creatures (something my dad used to say) but I am allergic to cats and therefore not on my favorites list. dogs are great, but to die for animals? You gotta be higher than me on my worst bender....

Yes, it's wrong. It says something about the person you are when you find it funny that cats and dogs were burned to death in a fire.
I didn't find anything funny about it. And I suppose if you were there as a Firefighter, trying to battle the blaze, you wouldn't find anything funny about hearing poor defenseless animals crying and screaming in pain either.
