Thanks for the info and bump from Xenaverse.

I wouldn't put either Xena or Bonanza on my top 5 shows to have with me if stranded on an island. But they would certainly make the list if the list was longer.

I've watched some Xena. If viewed superficially it does appear to be campy. I would say that it was made that way: Some "campy" and some depth.

I can understand the appeal of Xena and of Bonanza. I can understand that fans are, well, fanatic. I'm probably more inclined to flip the TV to Xena and watch an episode or two, just based on the post that you made. I'll look for the depth. There must be something to Xena if it has so many fans.

I would hope that Xenites would return the favor and consider Firefly. Really there must be something to Firefly...

Thanks again for your post.

I was only half serious because I'd like too see Firefly get it's own record, but you are right. Let the competition continue! Firefly will never beat XWP I'm coming out How is that? This Lakota Warrior doesn't do soccar matches, she does play rugby though!

Well certainly I think you should support whichever show you think is best but I'm having difficulty understanding how my posting about an old DOS computer role playing game is a challenge.

LOL, sorry, I think I clicked on the wrong post, that was meant for derangedmilk or whomever his nick is>

I love both shows, Xena just brought to my life an amazing partner of almost 10 years, and lots of good life time friends, and someting to get my mind off of chemo when I was fighting cancer.

was a late comer into F/F, saymovie, loved it then boght the DVD's and have watched both over a dozen of time. I want both series to remain on top. It's all in fun, so I'm not really sure why deranged got upset at my posts, there were not meant to be a slam; it's all good. We shall see what happens. At the very least F/F will get into secnd place soon, whether other Xenites sto voting after Lucy's BD remains to be seen. I for one want to see F/F get it's very own record and not be second to anything. I really want it to pass Bonanza, and that is just a matter of time. I think we will be second to the 250,000 Hall of Fame! Bonanza is for the older folks, and this is the time if for Sci fi!!

Xena really meant a lot to us lesbians, and we were the ones that propelled it to it's cult status. It showed 2 women side by side without needing a man to help them, Xena is the ultimate Women Warrior, and it brought a lot of married lesbians out of the closet and with it came a lot of divorces; especially I hear from older women who grew up having to pretend to be who they were not. They were taught to marry a man and have kids. My partner being one of those women, married with a son, my great step so who thinks he has the coolest moms. He is 24 mow. He ex is remarried and has 2 new sons. So all good came out of our little world. We would all still be friends but her ex married a homophobic, but before he met her he used to go camping, and hiking with us. He knew he had no chance, but they only lived as friends for so many years before I cam along. There are a lot of stories like that, but not all were as lucky as we were. I could go on, but there you see the show is very important to a lot of us. F/f was just good entertainment, but wasn't anything life changing.

Well that makes more sense. Xena is quite fine entertainment don't get me wrong. I just think Firefly is better. It has prety much everything I look for in serial drama: deep characters, snarky dialogue, big ideas, the occasional heist, and spaceships.

In 40 or so days, Firefly will join Xena in the Hall of Fame - sooner if we can pick up some new voters.

A couple of observations about our nearest competitors:

250K for the Xenites. With the effort & perseverance needed to get that many votes, they surely deserve to be there - congratulations to all their voters and fans.

I finally admit it, Bonanza will beat us to 200K. Not by our lack of trying but by their remarkable tenacity - I am impressed.

Lets push for 1500+ votes on the 27th March

I'm not sure how uch voting I can do because I got a call from my sister last night that my Dad is dying so I have to fly down next week; that's the soonest I can get there, and I hope I can see him before he goes. He is in the San Francisco Veterans Hospital. I'll take my lap top of course, but not sure how much time I'll be online.

My condolences, I hope your trip gets you respite and peace.
