What about the Roger Moore bond?

(apart from the actor's name sounding a bit like a gay-Bond himbo:
Gay Bond: "my name is bond, james bond and you are?"
Himbo:"Roger Moore"
Gay Bond: "I bet you are."...)

Moore's damage taken was always in the front part of his hair. Whatever the fight Moore Bond would emerge unscathed with a slight tussled look to his hair. Bond is not human.

Yep, when I first heard of the sport Parkour, after watching the trailer for District B13, my first response was, "So, they're applying Jackie Chan's moves to the real world?"
Of course, none of its progenitors ever mention Jackie Chan: They just say they've created a new "mode of transportation".

I saw a really good demonstration video of Parkour a few years ago and collected some great videos. It really is amazing to watch. So, when I heard about District B13 I had to see it. Luckily it was available from Netflix. It was pretty fun. Very impressive action, lame story and acting, exactly what you expect from a movie staring stuntmen.

As far as this movie went as a whole, I thought it was really amusing how modern and "today" the whole thing was. First you have a scene where he chases a master of parkour. Then the movie revolves around a game of Texas Holdem, which yes has been the main event of the WSOP for 40+ years but has only really been widely known for the last couple years. And the last thing which really amused me was in Bond's fight with the african warlord in the stairwell, he finished him with a classic rear naked choke even focusing briefly on how Bond was holding him with his legs. I was sitting there saying "well, somebody's been watching the UFC".

I have a feeling that in 10 years, you'll be able to look at this movie and say "this must've been made in the mid 00's.

I remember noticing Bond's legs, and had a passing thought it was Brazilian Ju-Jitsu.

(I was also struck by all of the "modern" aspects of CR. I was amused that the first time we see Bond in a car, it's a Ford. LOL!)

Take the generally percieved 'best' Bond film, Goldfinger. A careful mix of realism, unrealism, humour, and the absurd. CR tried for realism, but broke it's own attempt at it with super-super-human feats of stamina and lack of broken bones. If Bond can't be hurt, why should I care if he's tortured?
