I know it's highly doubtful that Joss will see this, but maybe someone close to him will, and will pass this along:
I have several friends who are either deaf or hearing impaired. They are Browncoats, and dearly love the Movie. Their one big complaint, though, about DVDs in general, is that there are No Subtitles or Close Captioning available in the Extras section. All the added documentaries, the gag reel, even the fruity Oaty Bar jingle.... they want to know what's being said.
I think it would be a ground breaking move for Joss to include either subtitles or program in close ccaptioning for the Extra Features. It'll be yet another Browncoat First!
Thanks.

Oh, great... "Joss, we love you, you're GOD, Serenity is PERFECT, except you did it wrong when you deleted these scenes, you have to put them back in. We're the fans and we should know. You only created it."
OK, I'm being snarky. But, come on, can't you let a guy decide how his own movie should go? Or are you studying to be Fox studio executives in your spare time?

Hey, everybody has the right to hope for more. It's not like everyone's saying, "UGH! If I don't get this and this, I will never buy this edition!" Besides, I think closed captioning is a pretty reasonable request.

Sorry, maybe I was unclear -- I wasn't referring to requests for closed captioning. I was referring to the people saying the scenes that were filmed and deleted should be edited back into the movie.

Ah, yes. Yeah, in my opinion, I would love to get more deleted scenes in the deleted scenes section, but I have to stand with Joss on this one: He never wants to make a Director's Cut - ever, because his final cut, to him, is (ie should be) the best the movie could be.
By the way, does anybody know why there was/is such a furor over the Serenity cover art? I liked it, llamas and all (though the random hordes of people in the background made it feel like it held a hint of zombieness). River looks so shiny!

River didn't look real though - and the color scheme is... eh. Just weird.
But yay for more! Anything more is good, I'm not particular.
(Full cast commentary? Best. Idea. Ever.)

Anyone else envisioning a promotional t-shirt that says "New Key Art"? Or even "Kew Rat Yen"? Do we know if it's in time for the CSTS screenings?
Woo-hoo! *does happy dance*

Oh...this is the second most glorious news a Browncoat could get. I say second cuz a Big Dam Sequel would be Numero Uno on my list of glorious bits of new
And while I would love to see the deleted scenes added back in again...I will bow to Joss' wishes. He thinks what we got is the Director's Cut, then it's the Director's Cut without question
