NEWS FLASH : Fresh Update 5-15-2007
Final testing for flight was started Saturday.
All of the systems were brought up on both
vehicles and given a shakedown.
One of the time consuming tasks was getting
everything communicating correctly with the new
setup in the Mission control van.
By the end of the day Bob had all the systems
transmitting data, displaying on maps and
generally purring.
Ed and Karl took on on the task of checking the
antennas. We're using higher frequency with
smaller antennas these days, but we still have a
few applications that need the big boomers.
It's never good to discover you're missing a
bolt in the field.
Before each mission we set up everything and
make sure we have all the nuts and bolts.
FLIGHT SCHEDULED JUNE 2nd !

we had a meeting today to review some items for the L-2 MMT tomorrow and I asked about the union strike issue and everyone seemed confident it would be no impact to the launch. there are enough non union folks that can perform the STS-118 preparations so it should no be an impact to LON requirements for STS-117. weather is 70% go for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
for those with digg accounts let the digging begin.

NASA Browncoats...Hmmmm...Firefly//Serenity in Space...Hmmmm...Hard to tell which is cooler. Now all we need to do is get Group of Eight Browncoats and Royal Family of ((Insert Monarchic Nation here)) Browncoats and we can take over the world.

As long as they make sure the primary buffer panel is secure! Last thing you EVER want to hear during a shuttle launch is the commander saying "What was that?"

just had our L-2 MMT. all systems looking good, though weather this afternoon at the Cape could delay PRSD loading (Fuel cell H2 and O2). weather for friday is still holding at 70% chance for GO. Saturday and Sunday it drops to 60% chance for GO.
