OVERABUNDANCE

This is my first time on a Firefly forum so here's a little of my experience. An aquaintance turned me on to Firefly about a year ago as we were talking movies/sci-fi and I of course purchased the series and movie. "Pure gold" is all I have to say. I love every minute and get a little weepy every time I near the end of disc 4 and realize this is really the end of the best show ever.

Fave quotes would include but not be limited to:

Jayne: Pain is scary...and later in the scene, I was gonna get me an ear.

Wash: Here lies my beloved Zoe. My autumn flower. Somewhat less attractive now since she's all corpsified and gross.

Kaylee: How can we be sure unless we question it?(the buffet table)

And I'm thinkin' you weren't burdened with an overabundance of schoolin'

Most of mine are already up here, but I'm surprised I haven't seen anything from this exchange between Jayne and Book in OiS.

Hey everyone! I'm new! Found this site trying to find out what kind of combat boots River has for a costume and here ya'll are! Firefly/Serenity fan going on three years now and loving every moment of it.

All right, I can't believe no one has mentioned these from War Stories, my fave episode.

*Mal's fighting a Niska guy, Jayne goes to shoot him, Zoe puts her hand on his gun*
Zoe: this is something the Captain's gotta do for himself
Mal: No! No it ain't!
Zoe: Oh *they shoot the bad guy*

AND!

[Zoë has made soup for Wash, and sets it on the table for him]
Wash: Mmm. Wife soup. I must have done good.
Zoë: Yes, dear. You done good.
[kisses him on the cheek]
Mal: [Mal enters dining area] Did you tell her?
Wash: [looks up warily] Tell her what?
Mal: [to Zoë] Your husband has demanded that we sleep together.
Zoë: Really?
Wash: [looking a bit panicky] What? Mal, come on...
Mal: He seems to think it would get all this burning sexual tension out in the open. You know, make a fair fight for your womanly affections.
Wash: No! That was the torture talking...
[looking up at Zoë pleading]
Wash: Remember? The torture?
Mal: [takes Zoë's hands and places one on his hip and the other on his shoulder, then with his other hand moves some hair off her shoulder, sporting a deadpan expression] I know it's a difficult mission, but you and I have to get it on.
Zoë: [also with a deadpan expression] I understand. We have no choice. Take me, sir. Take me hard.
Jayne: [Jayne, who has just begun to enter the dining hall, sees this and gets an uncomfortable look on his face] Now somethin' about that is just downright unsettlin'.
Wash: [as Mal and Zoë get closer to kiss - looking like two teenagers on their first date, Wash steps in grabs Zoë's arm and pulls her to the door of the dining hall] We'll be in our bunk.

Is it bad that I kinda love that episode BECAUSE Wash gets tortured and then goes all manly man? Anyway, cheers!

the second last episode I think in the series where they are all going to go help the woman in the brothal.
Captain Reynolds tells everyonr the plan and Jayne says that it's not really his problem and they are not getting paid anyway. Captain Reynolds says that's fine and Jayne makes another comment about not going and than the Captain says "there whores" and Jayne promptly relies "I'm in"

or

when Captain gets married to Sapron and she is naked in his bunk and describing what her "bible" says and after all these sexual references captain is totally quiet and says "wow, good book" shortly there after he says "it's been a long time since anyone took ahold of my plow but me" it's all gold.

The entire series of Firefly is gold, it is unfortunate that Fox felt the need to sabotage it. Every episode is like a movie it it so good

Holy cow, I thought I was the only one. I have watched the entire series numerous times, but only watched the last episode once because It makes me so sad thatt the series is over. I won't watch the last episode because it makes it final I just start at the first disc again.
I just got into it, I loved Serenity and I heard a tv series was out for it and bought it. Greatest series ever!

There are some lines will pop into my head entirely of their own accord. They may or may not be related to the circumstances at hand ('cause I'm usually at work when they happen!), but they make me laugh and I usually mutter them under my breath. If I try to say it out loud, the explanation gets lost in translation.

"She's in Congress?" - Jayne
"Although I would take it as a kindness if she wouldn't." - Mal
"She swore to obey?" - Mal
"I could get nekkid." - Jayne
"Were there monkeys?" - Mal
"Wacky fun." - Wash
"Some people juggle geese!" - Wash

Question for y'all - I think this line came from FF, however, I can't remember when/when/for sure:
"Where does that get fun?"
I think Mal said it, but I'm not positive. Does anyone know?

Jayne says it to Kaylee in the BDM when he's throwing out the pieces of the Reaver ship that was following them before the barn swallow. He's talking about Reavers eating people alive.

Inara gets in some great lines herself. These may not be exact quotes, but you'll know them:

Operative: [to Mal] You cannot make me angry.
Inara: Please, spend an hour with him!

Mal: It's not altogether wise sneaking up on a man when he's handling his weapon.
Inara : Yes, I've heard that said.

Book: I don't think the Captain would like me praying for him.
Inara: Don't tell him....(whispers under breath) I never do.
