And Firefly was one of those silly sci-fi shows with the comedic twist to it. I gave it a try when it premiered several years ago but just couldn't get into it."

Let's show them how powerful the fans of a "silly sci-fi show" can be!

Where did you see that? Wasn't able to find that on any of the Bonanza boards I've looked at. Could you tell me where you saw that? I'd like to pop in and post a bit.

On a related note, I've tried to keep my comments about Bonanza fans nice and civilized. We're not actually going to win anything other than pride if/when we pass them up, so I think it's in our best interest to be civil. Firefly fans have had a rather tarnished reputation, and I don't want to add any fuel to the fire. So lurk over on their boards all you want, and post things from there here all you want (as I'm sure they'll be doing) but I'd encourage us all to stay good and sportsman like.

I am sure that you have since found the comment...By the way, I didn't know that you were running for office! Very diplomatic speech Causal. Even though personally it made me feel a little nauseous, I am sure your heart was in the right place.

Ellen:

It's all relative.

If we downloaded the results at exactly the same time every day, there
would be exactly 24 hours worth of votes reflected in the totals, but
we don't. Sometimes we wake up early, sometimes we show up late but we
are pretty regular considering our 24/7 365 day a year schedule.
Tomorrow's vote will be smaller than it might have been by today's
delay, but those missing votes were already included in today's total
so there's really no difference in the long run.

And we are in it for the long run.

This might explain the 1200 of today. The stat's were -very- late... well, relative to Friday. So todays' results includes a few more hours of voting than yesterday. While Rich is right, in the long run it all "balances" out, except... we tend to do all the stats assuming all days are equal. So.. if tomorrow's numbers are a bit low, don't be surprised.

For those of you who don't know what speech Morena is referring to, I took the liberty of registering at one of the main Bonanza boards. Since I was the one who posted the comment from their boards that got them all fired up, I decided that a few kind words would not go amiss (/shameless quote mangle). I basically acknowledged that I am one of the lurkers that prowls their site, but that I don't do so in any malicious way, just looking at general mood and for any prize quote I can drag over here for motivational purposes. Well, heck, here's the post:

Well, hello, all. Name's Causal, and I have an admission to make: I'm actually a Firefly fan--one of those infamous lurkers that checks out the action on this and other boards. I assure you, however: I come in peace. I seems that there's been some bad blood--in both fandoms--over this voting thing (I suspect Mr. La Bonte has himself a good chuckle over that!). But I'm here with the olive branch. I've tried my best to keep things civil over on our boards, as far as it depends on me. I think it's silly to insult people's intelligence over something like a television program. Obviously, I can't enforce behavior, so I just do my best to make it a nice, clean, sportsmanlike competition. That said, I see nothing wrong with a little...*ahem*...motivation now and again--we steal from over here and you steal from us, to mobilize the voters. I think that's a good, clean tactic. Name-calling and mud-slinging, not so much (whichever fandom it's from). I just wanted you guys to know that I may lurk about, but I'm not malicious. I hope that we can still shake hands at the end of each day without any ill will.

Hope that's in keeping with the type of fans we are.

Editted to add: I must say, their reception of me has been quite warm. They've all said very pleasant things; not a mean one in the bunch. I hope that we would be so courteous if one of their number popped in for a "hello."

What! If one dem Bonanza folk show their face here, I'm takin' 'em out to the wood shed...
and grab some wood. Then I'm take 'em out back...
and set up some comfy place to put our feet up (what's the wood for). Then I'm kicking off a chorus of "The man we call Jayne!"

I'm supposin' we'd do ok. If they can stand my singing ;-)

As much as I'm sure they'd appreciate the gesture, I'm thinking maybe they could do without the singing...

Somebody asked if horny teens were watchin Zena-my hubby just informed me that Zena is the most watched DVD with PRISONERS, ain't that a hoot?

Now if we could just find out what a sterio-typical Bonanza fan is...

Sometimes good guys wear brown!
