Game: Little Things that could have changed the 'Verse

It's been a while since we played this one.
Okay, the game is played thus: You take a moment from the 'Verse and make one little change that would have had a huge impact on the crew.
This can be a change to a scene in Firefly:

Jayne: Make somethin' up, okay?
Mal pauses, turning to look at Jayne through the window of the airlock.
Jayne: Don't tell them what I did.
Pause. Mal stares at Jayne.
Mal: Fine. *walks off*

Or a change to a scene from the Big Damn Movie

The Operative: I am unarmed...
Mal: Good!
Mal draws his gun, shoots The Operative, grabs Inara's hand and starts to run.
The Operative: *lying on the floor* Knew... I ... *gasp* ... should ... have ... *cough* ... worn ... *gasp* ... armour ...

While their mothers wander around the Academy, little Inara talks to little Sheydra
Inara: So we learn archery here?
Sheydra: Yeah! And dancing! And all sorts of cool stuff!
Inara: Wow! This is the best school ever!
Sheydra: Yeah! And when we're older they teach us how to kiss boys and stuff!
Inara: Ewww! No! Kissing boys is icky!
Inara runs crying to her mother
Inara: Mommy! Mommy! I hate it here! Take me home! Take me home!
