A friendly greeting to every brown-coat out there. Im new to this fansite & must admit at 23 years of age, this is my first membership to any fansite, ever. I just felt compelled to search for & possibly join such an awesome looking site that deals with anything serenity/firefly.

A little background, i reside in Sydney Australia, & like many fans, i too discovered the joys of the series much too late & caught my first episode well after its cancellation unfortunatley. Nevertheless, im always thankful i was lucky enough to catch this show in my lifetime no matter how brief.

I am a keen collector of signed memorabilia dealing with serenity/firefly & have numerous signed photos framed up in my office/room. I was lucky enough to meet Summer when she came to Sydney in 06 at the SuperNova Convention which was one of the greatest days of my life. Not just because of meeting a cast member, but it just felt like i belonged there & was totally comfortable in the presence of other sci-fi fans enjoying the whole convention experience.

I hope i get the same feeling here as i did that day in Sydney & if anyone is willing to show me the ropes, thatll be much appreciated.

I will repress my mad jealousy at you meeting Summer... Mostly.

If you have any questions there is bound to be a thread somewhere that answers them. Look around, read up a bit, and if you can't find what you need, just ask. Please dive right into the discussions, as we can always use more people to talk to!
FollowMal should be along at some point to give you a Virtual Browncoat, kind of a traditional greeting around here. I wear mine with pride. Others will be along to heap food upon you. It's all pretty good, but the ice planets can get a bit messy and problematic.

Welcome home! We're glad you found your way here. Another Australian Browncoat! Well, not that I am one...I live in Alabama...but the number of Australians has been growing! Hopefully one or two of them will drop by to say hello!

Don't feel odd about joining your first fandom at 23...I was 34 when I found this place, and it has been home ever since.

Thank you for your kind welcome. This is has been a great first experience. I couldnt help but notice that many people have all soughts of shiny stuff attached to their messages like logos & pics. How would i go about getting a personalised pic next my user name?? By the way, yours is very nice.

I'm new to these parts, too. Been a Firefly fan since it aired and participated in the early write-in campaign when it got canceled...Like you I never got into the fan-site thing myself either. I lurked for a few years in the background but only recently registered as a member here.
