I love the flying hair, though I am sure it bothers you. I think it adds to the flair.

You look good in your dancing getup, if you don't mind me saying.

Some of the girls I used to toss around:

(yes, that is a Zoot tux, wore to 2 different senior proms)

'cause the Roman Gods up to that point were crap. Jeff, the god of biscuits, and Simon, the god of hair-dos.

Trist, lol, don't worry, I'll protect my feet somehow.

RugBug, glad to meet another swing dancer! Great pics!! I love your hair! I'm trying to find pics of me dancing, but all I've found is that one of me and my lil bro I posted a bit back. I'll keep looking though.

LA29, of course we will teach you some dancing! This is just gonna be SO much fun!!

RIMG, I was just listening to Big Bad VooDoo Daddy myself cause now I'm all in the swing music mood. Do you happen to know any lindy hop, btw?

JQ, lil worried 'bout you, but then I remembered that's just you.

I do remember doing a bit of Lindy, though I am sure I am rusty as it has been a few years. I may have to do some solo practicing to get back up to speed (since neither of you lovely ladies live near me whatsoever).

Ah, RIMG, I so wish you were near me. I don't really have anyone to dance with these days. The guy in the pictures is now living in Atlanta. He stills comes back occassionally, but it's just not the same. And I've been out of the swing scene here for so long that I don't really know anyone anymore.

(Those picts, BTW, were all takin' at work: At our fifties themed year end and at Halloween. My usual dance clothes are a bit more 40s inspired, but I went with my 50s dress and saddle shoes for this occassion. And my, I never realized just how see through that dress is. It's sheer except for an eyelet insert that runs around the bust and down the front but with a slip it seems innocuous. Eek)

Roxy: Do you do lindy? I started doing Savoy style Lindy and then switched a a Dean Collins/Hollywood style. Add some Bal, Shag, and Charleston and I'm a happy camper.

I wish we lived closer too, as it would be good to get to dance again. Ah, the mixed blessings of the internet.

You might be far more advanced at this than I, as I never really put names to any of it, just did it. I really need a refresher now.

Sorry to interrupt your discussion of swing dancing, but I promised Penguin pictures.

For Penguin:

(part one)

I call this photo "Two! Two Kaylees! Mua-ah-ah!"

Yes, I have more, but... um... maybe later.

pic for comparison:

as compared to RIMG:

Oh no. I've forgetten most of what I learned. I have only danced about 8 times in the last three or four years. Sad, that.

Add an injured right arm...you know, my arm I get lead by...and hard core dancing may be a thing of the past.

I am teaching some guy this week. Heh. He paid $75/lesson for five lessons and only knows some very basic stuff. I told him I'd teach him for half that (actually for free...but it was worth a shot. ). Now if I could just remember some moves. It's east coast and these days I just follow without thinking about what I'm doing.

I can see the resemblance Odds, though I have no idea who Ryan Hurst is.

Rugbug - I think most of what I do would be considered East Coast Swing.

Oh yeah, and I tend to lead with my right hand, either on your left shoulder blade or lower/middle back.

In the beginning the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and is widely considered as a bad move.
