The Christmas Song- Nat King Cole, the man's voice is made of velvet.

Stragely, my absolute fave is White Christmas, Bing Crosby. Why is that strange? Because I hate the snow and cold. Big time sun and sand guy here. Christmas in the 80's for me.

I suppose my fave should then be Mele Kalikeemaka, by Bing Crosby. The Hawi'ian Christmas tune. Awesome.

Christmas: Baby please come home by U2 is good, though I also like Darlene Love's version.

Good thread. Very Wassailly.

1.Little Toy Trains- Roger Miller, not a big fan of Susan Aglukark's version.
2.Susie Snowflake- Rosemary Clooney (yes she is related to George)
3.White Christmas- Bing Crosby
4.God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen- Barenaked Ladies/ Sarah McLachlan
5.The Christmas Song- Nat King Cole
5a. Anything by Andy Williams and Dean Martin.

Too many to list... Arggg.

To me nobody does Christmas like the crooners, although, Sting, Sarah, Nora Jones, Diana Krall do fine stuff too.

Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass. That's 70's Christmas.

Not really a Christmas song per say. But it is based off of a Christmas song, and I think of it every year around the holidays.

(to the traditional tune)

Good king Wenceslas looked outside,
Saw that it was raining,
Couldn't find his welly boots,
Spent an hour complaining.
Someone here has nicked my boots!
I can't find my wellies.
Never mind i'll stay indoors and see whats on the te(eh)lly.

Best alt version ever.

And the Pogues, of course, I was brought up proper I was.

And this one (mainly because it takes you several listens to realise that it is actually about christmas) My kinda christmas song.

Yup, i'm a scrooge - right up until december 20th.

In related new, there are two ally cats having a fight outside - its getting vicious, but its very musical. Maybe thay ain't fighting. Its so hard to tell with cats, but there s no way i'm looking.

Isn't sanity really a one trick pony, anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking! But when you're good and crazy...ooh hoo hoo hoo... the skys the limit!
