Its some con in Stony Brook, NY that apparently is decent. Has anyone heard of it? It seems to be mostly sci-fi anime based, but I heard there is a furry group going(shudder). I've never been to any con. I don't care if I am surrounded by 100 people dressed and Inuyasha, I'm going to be female Jayne.

From what I know if it's quite good. A lot of guests (ranging from top level to "and you're famous from what?" level). They also run (or ran) movie and gaming marathons, such as all the Red Dwarf episodes back-to-back. It's worth going to, regardless of if you're a die-hard fan of a particular show (ie Firefly), or just a buffet browser.

If you find yourself getting too worked up about stuff that isn't real (RP Threads etc), then go outside, breathe in some fresh air and try feeding the ducks. (Because ducks don't care about your politics, religion, skin colour, choice of music or even your haircut. They like everyone, provided you bring them food.)

Yeah the website made it seem pretty cool, and I do like some anime. I'm hoping to find a prop dealer that has some firefly pretties.

You'd be hard pressed to find a better con in the northeast than I-Con. Met Ron Glass there earlier this year and met Jewel Staite last year. Hoping they have another BDH next year!

As it gets closer to the date of the con, if we have a biggish group, maybe there could be some kind of meet up among the browncoats.
