Not many shows that can make a bad situation a good one.
Reminds me of a quote from Paradise Lost:
"The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a Heaven of Hell, a Hell of Heaven."
Seems Firefly can make a Hell a Heaven.

I've so been there. I was ill from mid-June to October. I watched every episode a number of times and the movie more times than I can count. Then when I was finally feeling well enough to I wrote a 12 chapter (almost 200 page) fic.
Yes Firefly saved my sanity this summer and fall.
