I voted for all the people I thought had the biggest wang. Length as well as girth were the main contributing factors... but they had to be straight wangs too because curvey ones are just weird man. In 2008 I will have to rethink my strategy or I might be the deciding vote that gets another Clinton into office.

How fitting was it that South Park had the episode with the election candidates of Big Douche and Turd Sandwich. Could have easily been the candidates here in Virginia.

All your doing is taking one corrupt politician and replacing it with another. there all nothing but a bunch of liars and criminals. Because I voted I have jury duty in march, now I have to figure out a way to get out of going. Thats just another reward for voting. If your anything but an Independant your a moron. I guarantee I could do a better job than all those monkeys in D.C., I actually care about the future of my country. So go vote for some dumbshit thats just flappin its mouth just to get your vote.

Voted! Always have, always will. Husband, daughter and daughter in CA and her fiance, my Mom, all my brothers and wives and their children old enough. Voting is a right earned by the blood of folks who have fought for all of us to have that right. My Dad was career military and we had that honor instilled in us from early on. I appreciate that sacrifice and consider it my duty to do my part since they earned it for me.

For those who are of age, NOW is a great time to go register to vote. When you go to get your license or to have it renewed, ask for them to register you to vote when they ask you the organ donor question. (Which is also a good idea, BTW!)

Ok, that's not actually true, I almost always vote. I usually write-in. But I think the two party system has hijacked our constitutional government. We always talk about voting for A or B, R or D, rarely taking the moment to consider who it is that put these limited choices before us. Just like all the parenting books suggest to let a toddler choose between two acceptable choices to you: the blue shirt, or the red shirt. The green shirt is never offered as an option.

Just who are these parties? They're private clubs. They're not constitutionally mandated. They don't represent me. But they collude together to maintain power. Prohibitive ballot access laws, campaign finance 'reform', hell, even the direct election of Senators sabotages the original constitutional balances. Senators used to represent the states. As in, the state legislature used to elect the Senator as the representative of the state governtment to the federal government. Now Senators are simply 'super-representatives', who owe their allegiance to their party, not the state. Sure, they'll fight for their share of the pork on behalf of their constituents, but that's only to ensure reelection so they can serve their party's interests.

My point is, I think choosing to not vote is a perfectly legitimate and rational decision that should in no way forfeit one's right to voice opinions on current politics. If the rules of the game are unfair, it makes perfect sense to me to simply not play the game.

Anyway, sorry for the wild-eyed rant. I normally avoid real word discussions on intenet forums like the plague, but... 'tis the season.
