I've just heard something funny:
The London sewer system, the biggest civil building project was under taken by an engineer called Joseph Bazalgette. One of his ancestors works for Endemol, the company that created Big Brother, so in a bar twist of fate while Joseph Bazalgette was responcible for removing sewage from our homes his ancestors are responcible for pumping shit back in.
