I thought that Tennant was excellent as The Doctor. At first, I didn't like him, I felt that no one could replace Ecclestone. But after a few episodes, I was hooked. The humour is brilliant, and I love the 'quirkiness'.
Plus, the Devil episode (cannae remember the name) was crazy.

I just adore David Tennant.
When I found out he was gonna be the Doctor I thought "Hmmmm, mix of Tom Baker and Peter Davison.". Granted, being in the US I didn't get to see him play it till recently but I've seen him in so much else that I just love him as an actor. Now that I've seen him in action as the Doctor, he's definitely lived up to my expectation, and they are pretty damn high seeing as I've been a HUGE Doctor Who fan since I was very young.

I'm enjoying his work. That is probably because I loved him in Masterpiece Theatre's "Casanova" and because I've never seen any of the previous doc's episodes. "Class Reunion" was the first time I'd watched this show.
