9/20/06 - Nothing of any great significance, just more of the same. I just can't get over the irony of seeing our fav vamp w/ a soul ( ok, one of our 2 fav vamps with a soul ) playing a FBI guy who was a sniper in his past life and grew up Cathoilc. Booth tries to comfort Bones after she's killed a bad guy, saying something like ' The cost of taking a life is very steep. I should know '

Keep in mind, I'm not TRYING to draw overt comparisons to Angel here, honest. it's just that every once in a while, I can't help but see a bit of Angel come out in David's character. This isn't to say that David is simply 'being' Angel as some FBI guy, or that he can't act. It's more to do w/ the lines he's given. And the early reference to 'watching Firefly on DVD' only helps matters.

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

" They don't like it when you shoot at 'em. I worked that out myself. "

It's funny, I was just telling my mom how that line reminded me of the conversations Angel had with Faith.

Most of the time when I watch Bones, I don't see Angel in Booth, which I think is a testament to David's acting skills. But every so often, Mr. Broody comes out. Though I think that it's like you said and has more to do with the lines he's given.

I'm sure the writers of Bones are aware of the role DB played on Angel (it was the reason he was hired after all)
I've been enjoying Bones more and more,
a great supporting cast (even better now that River Tam's school teacher has joined the cast),
and David has really settled into the role with confidence and charm.

I miss Angel, and think it was better written, but I can definitely enjoy this.

Well, here's number five.

For those who have been watching Bones since season one, have you noticed the frequent occurence of guest stars from the Jossverse? First there's David himself, as well as T.J. Thyne, who guest-starred on Angel. Next there's Adam Baldwin, Tamara Taylor, who was in Serenity, and most recently, Kali Rocha, who played Cecily/Halfrek on Buffy. And make things even more interesting, there was a reference to a hotel called the "Hyperion". More than a coincidence, don't you think?
