Why are there so many angry emoticons?

So of the emoticons included along the side of the Post A Reply window, we have:

-4 happy ones (smile, biggrin, wink, kiss)
-7 angry ones (finger, fork, blast, bash, banghead, pissed, censored)
-5 sad/dead/barfy ones (disappointed, crap, knife, hanged, vomit)
-6 others (blush, evil, stupid, smokin, naughty, tongue)


Leaving out the 6 "others", that leaves 4 happy emoticons vs. 12 sad/angry emoticons. What's up with that? Why so few happy emoticons? Don't most people use emoticons to show their tone -- which can be difficult to pick up in text -- so that other people won't assume they're angry? Or is that just me?


(Yeah, yeah, I know. But I've been working for 13 hours straight, give me a break, my mind is starting to go! )

Of course, I've got some irritated, sad and angry ones, too. I notice there's not a sad face emote through the site, which is actually kinda basic...

Good question, maybe not everyone is as happy as you are? I think its just because whoever made those faces knew we were going to have some angry emotions about Firefly never having a second season and came prepaired :)
