FFF,net Etiquette?

I'm not being defensive, but being new around here I find myself comitting one faux pas after another.
What are the general rules of etiquette and behavior here?
Obviously, one should avoid name calling and rudeness (although, I guess that rudeness is sorta' subjective), but what are the other "rules"?
And I even ran a search per instructions in the "Time to bring Firefly back, this is ridiculous" thread and did not see a comprehesive list. So, if there is one, sorry (well, I guess that's defensive).

Uh-oh! This is my fault, for jumping on you a bit on the Companion thread. It wasn't you I was jumping on - I've been hanging out in the real world threads too much and had some thoughts, and I was venting them.
You didn't do anything offensive! Please don't take anything one person says to be the FFF Way - even if it's me!

We all offend somebody sometime. Basically, just be respectful of other peoples opinions. Arguments are fine as long as they don't get personal.
I haven't seen anything that you have done to offend so - I am not sure what to tell you!
EDIT - Fellow - just took a look at the Companion thread and you did nothing wrong. Mal was responding to someone different. That is way (As Mal did) it is always good to include the quote you are referring to. Keeps people from being confused!

Oh, no! This has been on my mind for week or two but haven't felt comfortable asking.
I have been reading the recent "troll" threads and just want to be sure to avoid behavior that is considered offensive (although, I found those threads pretty amusing) .
This community existed a long time before I happened upon it and I really have no experience posting on a message board.

Seems to me whatever "rules" you'd follow in RL conversations can apply here. We're all pretty easy goin', bein' Proud Browncoats, so don't worry too much. It's all shiny!!

Those or that "troll" is a playground bully.
Just be your shiny self as has been said. You will see that things get quite heated here and thats ok. This is a family and families that love-argue! Just don't let the bully get you down.
(You will also note that some of us *coughMEcough* tend to poke the Troll-it's a fault of mine, I know, I try and I try and I just can't help myself)

I know where you're coming from - this is the first and only discussion group I've experienced. I did a lot of lurking at first, then found a few comfy thread to hang out in and got to know a few people. It all makes sense in time, and folks are very friendly!
I'd say - don't worry! Just be yourself and don't take anything too seriously!
