I dont think he is a racist, just stupid and on a christian fundamentalist agenda to start a new crusade against non- christians. Gotta weed out those dirty pagans. Race has nothing to do with it, belief does. If you dont believe what they do you should die. what a wonderful world we live in.

Seems that Condi is one of the most intellegent and capable black women ever to work for a Presidential administration and instead of barring her advancement because of race or gender, her trusts her with responsibilty that is appropriate given her experiance and education.
Name a black conservative you do like. If you can't perhaps your issue is not that they are black...its that they are conservative. You then choose to attack them because of their race, not their ideology...as the matter of fact blatent racism and sexism are common tools for attacking minority Republicans (and Joe Lieberman) who, by their very nature, are often unassailable on traditional political grounds.
I humbly suggest that the Democratic Party, because so much of its power is tied up in the struggle of minorities, especially blacks and women, has become the real racist party. But they are equal opportunity racists, they hate blacks, whites, and women. Democratic leaders benefit from keeping blacks in the place (their place being lined up to vote Democrat). Thats why the cities, bastions of liberal reform that they are, have suffered under generations of Democratic machine despotism.
Real progress is made by blacks lining up to vote their class economic and social interests rather then by race. Like whites they should break down along the same political lines with a mix of conservatives, liberals, and moderates and across the two parties and lunatic fringe (PirateParties). Instead they are required to vote Democratic, just like their parents.
I grew up in a West Virginia coal town. Unions, Democrats, and the lone Republican on the hill. The cycle of poverty there stayed unchanged for nearly a hundred years, then it changed in less then a decade...what changed? Enough of them voted Republican to make both parties start competing fairly for their votes and that competition is based on job performance, not incumbancy or the chains political legacy.

I'm not even sure what you're referencing when you accuse me of saying that blacks aren't intelligent enough to vote for republicans. On the contrary, I'm saying black people moreso than white people at the moment, are intelligent enough to see through current republican bullshit. They are inundated with the cold hard facts every day, just by looking around them.
You are the one selling blacks short. YOu're saying they've all been fooled by democrats. Are you really going to say that voting for republicans is a vote for their class, economic, and social issues? Really? Really???
I'll take your word for the coal town, though I'm sure the cure is being misinterpreted. There are and have been regressives in both parties, which I hinted at in my post. Most of them are currently in the republican party. There are some better examples I'm sure. Sadly I don't know any. Why don't you point them out? That way I'll have a republican I like. That would be a good thing.

No FMF, I don't tell others they're idiots for having a different opinion. I say they're idiots because they make claims for which there's no evidence. Saying Bush is a racist, for example, when there is ample evidence to the contrary is a silly, absurd position. If, on the ohter hand, you like mushrooms and I don't, I can't call your OPINION of mushrooms silly, because it's a matter of preference. Some like mushrooms, others's don't. Not so in the matter of callling the President a racist.
And to clarify, I'm not responding to you calling me an 'idiot' on any substantive issue. You ridiculed my use of the word 'Duh'. From my point of view, it was a light hearted, sarcastic response to a question , which was followed by a further explanation. You seemed bent out of shape over what I perceive as a trivial matter. As I said, I can't see what the fuss is all about.

Alot of the state is in poor shape. But the state's economy is growing, jobs and talent are coming back. Its a slow process to reverse a century of decline, but at least they are moving foreward. The real amazing thing is that they are moving foreward under effective leaders in both parties. But it began with the state's abandonment of its traditional Democratic legacy and forced the Democrats to accept that progress is not measured in Federal aid, but domestic growth.
