"I have been here many times before In a life I used to live
But I have never seen these streets so fresh Washed with morning rain
I have seen this face a thousand times Every morning of my life
But I never saw these eyes so clear Free of doubt and pain
Like the whole world has been made again."

I have been away from the pooter, or you could be sure i'd be filling up the screen with my usual gibberish.
I went to see a band (The Presets, v good) at some arty farty club in liverpool, and stayed at a friends, and then went to work, and then worked all night on my hat (also v. good!) and then went to work again. er, there was a little sleep in there.
but the basic gist is, i've been neglecting you all, i'm sorry, makeup hugs?

yay for hugs!
Hi all. I've spent my day knitting and sewing and installing a pet door! The pet door took all of 5 minutes to install, but an hour to unscrew all the rusty screws holding the sliding glass door in place (so completely unnecessarily, who'd ever break in to our house????) and then forcing a door that hasn't been budged in nearly 20 years to scooch over 6 inches.
And now, I have to convince the cats that it is not the devil, that is in indeed the best thing that's ever happened to them and that they can now come and go (out to our screened in porch) whenever they want.

what will happen is they'll never use it in front of you, preferring to sit there and cast imperious glances and get you to open the door.
But when your back is turned they'll be in and out of it like they're on bungee cords.
if all else fails, put a plate of their favorite snack or treats on the other side, and physically post them through the flap. (keep hold of the front paws until they're on the other side!) If they associate the other side with nice food they might realises its not so bad.
