Right now the machine just hiccups when you tilt it, lights up then shuts down. But I could have the new sound generator have jayne say "Them ain't kosherized rules!" or something. That's a good idea bunny. Thanks

No, I am not insane, I am crazy. Thank you for asking.

Shiiiii-nee!
On the wall nearby, a replica version of the
sign "NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR BALL FAILURE" like
the one in the show. Beginning of "Shindig,"
I think.

It looks shiny Pinballwizard! Excellent work. What a great piece for your Firefly/Serenity collection. That will definitely garner some conversation if you have anyone over.

truly wonderful idea - & especially how nicelky its been coming along.

I liked all the suggestions for things the sound generator might say so here's something that might serve as an inspiration:

In the arcade down on the Santa Monia pier is a "South Park" pinball machine & it is one of the most entetrtaining things I've ever seen. The machine senses when you're there and insults you using Cartman's voice. If you don't put in a quarter, Cartman will first insist that you do so. Then, if you still don't pay, he'll provide increasingly convoluted insults until finally, if you still haven't paid, he'll shine you on something to the effect of, "Go on - move along - you're poorer than Kenny so we don't need your quarter in the first place." And finally, if you're still hanging around, he'll tell you to "Get lost, loser!"

Ya gotta love a machine that insults you just for being there. Maybe something like Joss's voice saying, "People love a happy ending, but I just have to remind you that I don't like people." ...or something like that...

Is there any chance that you - PBW, I mean - can get your game mass produced?

Well I sure hope none of you think I'm done. No sir! Next comes the hardware modifications, new designs for the playfield and sides, sound effects, then I gotta replace the plunger with Mal's gun, like on the Indiana Jones machine. Lotta work before this is done.
But I have made progress on another front, as the new playfield decal is almost done. I just need some specifics attended to, then comes the tedious challenge of removing the lights and targets and whathaveyou from the playfield, laying the big sticker down, coating it with urithane, and putting everything back and hoping it still works:

Boy, do I wish. Even if I wasn't just a college student majoring in art-type-stuff, I wouldn't know how to go about selling it. There isn't much of a market for pinball machines, or arcade machines in general. The concept of the arcade as you and I know it is in the winter of it's life, kept only alive by those toturous DDR machines (and it's many look-alikes). People don't have to go to a seperate building to play awesome games anymore; some see that as positive, other as negative, but it's a fact.
The reason I chose such a base to make my game around is related to that fact though: usually something that get's turned into an arcade game is a confirmed part of popular culture, even if it's a cult-hit.

Well, I suppose if I was a compete nutter, I could make more than one, but I've still got a grain of salt about finishing the first one. It's nice to dream though, that's what got me started on this project, and what I do until noon every weekend.
