So which is it? Is he an imbecile, as stated in earlier posts, or is he on drugs?

I believe I read in another post that Bush went to an Ivy league school (please correct me if I'm wrong). Did he coast his way through or did he actually graduate on merit?

Can the president be on drugs? Are there mandatory
piss tests for the President? Does he have his own official urinator to test in his place? Is the administration to blame for not hiding his stash?

De-lurking to stir stuff up.

HERO,

PEOPLE IS PEOPLE? That's the best you got now?

You know that's a capitulation to the fact that he's a moron, when you have nothing to prop him up with...you must merely reduce all the rest of us to this lowest common denominator.

By that logic, if Rainman were a Republican, you'd vote for him.

Yes, people are people. Most of us are capable of learning how to be competent(that's a liberal assesment) - but we don't vote somebody into office because he's exemplary of our flaws and failings...we need a president who is capable and who will not be hated and laughed at by the rest of the world.

If you want to spin Bush's words and actions into something brilliant, then spin them...or if you want to bring to the table all of Bush's remarkably eloquent moments, or even a few, then do so. That would be a debate.

The only thing that this thread has established, is that Bush supporters and haters alike, agree...Bush's intelligence is not something that can be debated - he is a laughing-stock.

...added on edit

Holy shit...you aren't one of those people
that doesn't believe in evolution are you?
Is it just crazy liberals that descended from
apes?

And no, Auraptor, you can't just throw out there that Bush is as smart as Kerry without getting called on it. Show me some of the stupid things that Kerry has managed to say. Show me that they are even on the same level. Explain to me why Kerry crushed Bush in all 3 debates...(oh that's right...the main-stream media tried to sell the last debate as Bush's victory-but if I remember correctly, I still think Kerry took the victory in the polling). Show me something Bush has ever stood up for. Show me something in his past that proves that he has been driven by integrity or some substance of any kind that doesn't have to be snorted.

Wow Dayve those quotes are amazing! *shakes head ruefully*

I also love how recently he's been switching between "down home boy" where his twang becomes highly noticeable and "diplomat" where that twang disapears entirely - depending on his audience.

and I'd also like to raise the point that Bush DID NOT win the popular vote! But the choice between Kerry and Bush was like (to quote Dennis Miller) the choice between hospital food and airline food.

I was raised Republican but since I'm from the state Bush "occassionally" claims to be from (when it suits him) I can tell you in the 80's he was "detained" at least twice for DUI. It made all the papers here and there was general outrage he was never charged with anything.

Drugs...booze...sheer stupidity...does it really matter why?

You know what the chain of command is here? Its the chain I go get to beat you with to show you whose in command!

What is the President to you, Bigdamnnobody?

How would you characterize him? And please don't revert to the only remaining republican talking point - "better than Kerry" unless you at least elaborate on that.

Let's get this straight - this is not generic republican bashing - nowhere is there any reference to bad republicans. This is not blanket Bush-bashing. This is not picking on normal behavior just because it was Bush. This is not taking one small item out of context. The summit was well documented. Everyone was in the spotlight. This was BUSH's four strikes.

----------------------------
Bush:

gropes Merkel

in the finest juvenile sophomoric manner, uses the word shit (what a baaad boy he is)

in conversation says China is biiiiiig, Russia is biiiiig - twice

in total abdication of world leadership - I think maybe Condi might be going ... I think maybe Koffi might do something ...

Under the spotlight that shone on everyone, no one else displayed such boorish, imbecilic, juvenile behavior.

And Bush's supporters and other "fair minded" people -
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zero:
Elitist liberals non-folk monkey descendents whose shit doesn't stink "I'm just sayin..."
Unwrapped:
You libs are nothing but broken records.. Same annoying comments, same empty wind bags of hot air, over and over ...
Kaneman:
Who cares?
BDN:
I'm not a Bush fan but this article seems highly biased (I guess those weren't his words then?) were there any children at this function?
Causal:
"Bush EVIL, Democrat GOOD" Soup Catcher, insulting people (even if they did it first) is hardly a good way to dialogue
Zero:
people is people is people. ... Even liberals, except when they are looking in the mirror.
Causal:
anyone who disagrees with me in any way must be a Bush supporter ... (you say) Republicans are all moronic religious fanatics - Bush-is-the-antiChrist
BDN:
you should have added to your original post that dissenting viewpoints are not welcome (calls misrepresenting an argument 'dissenting') their screw-ups (are) just better documented (except Putin, Merkel, Blair, Chirac, Hu Jintao, Harper, and Junichiro)
Slick:
The part of the transcript you didn't quote (between Bush and Blair) seemed reasonably cogent (referring to: I think maybe Condi might be going ... I think maybe Koffi might do something ...)

------------------------

The absolute BEST thing that any supporter had to say was - well - except for those (ahem) mumble - (things) - -

I just looked at one quote: "A low voter turnout is an indication of fewer people going to the polls."

That has been variously attributed to Dan Quayle, George 'dubya' Bush, and John Kerry.

If you could verify the source, I'd appreciate it. It's not that I think John Kerry is perfect and Bush is always wrong, I just get uneasy about a source that doesn't check out.

Thanks.

I mean, I know that the players are switched there, but aren't both of those just a tad black-and-white? I'm not defending Bush, nor Hero's defense of Bush. All I'm saying is this relentless Bush-is-the-antiChrist thing is no less ridiculous than Bush-is-the-second coming.

And with all due respect, Soup Catcher, insulting people (even if they did it first) is hardly a good way to dialogue.

What I have noticed, Causal, is that criticism is labelled as Bush hatred (or, to use your words, "Bush-is-the-antiChrist"). Pretty much any criticism. The threshold is very low. It seems to me that there is a group of people who don't think others should have a negative opinion on anything that Bush has done or said. Is that qualitatively different from bringing up everything that Bush has said or done that you disagree with? (oops, I'm pulling a Rumsfeld) I think it is.

As to insults... I came to the conclusion, based on posting history, that Hero is not interested in dialogue. There is usually one consistency to his posts, he will find a way (sometimes one sentence sometimes paragraphs) to mock liberals. So I treat his posts accordingly. I am constantly revising my opinions so if Hero actually shows signs of engaging in a discussion, absent the blanket attacks, and it's a discussion I have an opinion on then I'll be there. Until then I will mock him for his one-dimensionality.

If I feel, based on evidence, that someone is not interested in dialogue then I feel no need to extend the same courtesy to them I would extend to someone interested in dialogue.

For example, if you're having a conversation with someone and they keep

What I find hysterical is that Hero will drag himself down into the faux-hillbilly group (people "is" people) so that Bush won't be there all by "hisself". Now THAT'S what I call loyalty!

But please Hero, DON'T include me in your klatch of knuckle-draggers. Not eveyone aspires to be a moron!
