That is really a fascinating story.
All my cat ever shows interest in on TV is the Animal Planet channel... and it has to be scenes of animals, preferably prey animals, running or flying around to keep him watching.
Any cat who will go to the trouble your cat did to watch Firefly is a ruttin' genius cat... with outstanding taste. Definitely let her watch Firefly whenever she wants to. It's only for a lack of opposable thumbs that keeps her from loading up the DVD player herself.
Really, this is a great story.

Thats awesome! I've never seen a cat fetch anything before. All my cat does is lay around the house all day like a big furry blob but she is sweet. I wish my cat could do that.
