I don't see Israli as a "holy land". although iti s a place where three cultures have meet (Christianiy, Judasim and Islam) and possibly many others. And, like all countriesand nations in the world, it has its faults.

Like a couple of people said above its HISTORICALY (sp?) intersting.

I wonder how many folk who don't think that Israel to be the Jew's 'Holy Land' , but would recognize native American's claims that parts of the land they lived on were 'Sacred'.

Holy, sacred or not, doesn't matter to me. They're there now, and everyone else should get use to it and make the best of the situation. If you throw a stick at someone , don't get mad if they throw a bigger stick back at you.

It's like a cultural 'fault-line' between the three, it seems, with resulting friction, heat, and earthquakes.

About the only time those three beliefs DIDN'T try to kill each other was under the Medina Compact.

I never understood why, if it's so historically, culturally, and theologically important to all three, why they've never deemed it 'neutral' turf (perhaps even under the auspice that God owns it and man doesn't?) instead of a hell-bent (pun-intended) rush to 'possess' it..
