Searching for Specific 'Ships

I would like to know if there is a way to search for specific 'ships in the Blue Sun Room.

Perhaps it is because of my age, but once I settle into a pairing, I do not usually deviate from it. It is most disconcerting to be reading a story that you think is one pairing and have it evolve into something else, i.e. a recent Silee story I was reading that became Jaylee.

I like the canon pairings (Mal/Inara, Simon/Kaylee, Zoe/Wash) and am reading some wonderful Silee stuff at the moment (TamSiblings' A New Life pops into mind). However, I am also huge into Rayne fic.

I do try to avoid slash and angst.

If there is not a search method available, perhaps I could have some recommentdations. They would be most appreciated.

Also, LeighKohl and Leisky have massive amounts of S/K (with some M/I mixed in).

Kaynara's fics have all the ships you are looking for -- heavy M/I, with secondary (but just as developed) S/K and R/J (well... Rayne in the sequal, anyway, can't remember if it was included as much in the first fic). Goldy, 2x2, and AgentRouka, off the top of my head, are all great M/I writers.

I already have LeighKohl and Leisky in my favorites. However, when you get a name such as Kaynara, how do you look it up without knowing the name of one of the fics. Is there a place to look up authors by name. All I've been able to find is the alphabetical listing by fic title - which are sometimes not very descriptive (especially when they include the "A", "An" and "The" parts of the phrase in their listing.

And as much as I would love to contribute suggestions the the fic recommendations, I still haven't figured out how to do those things where you just click the words and it takes you to it. See, I don't even know what they're called. Sad indeed

Gonna jump in here.

Look for a post by any of these authors, anywhere, and click on the name. It'll take you to their profile, and then you can rummage at will. Or google them - that should take you there, too.

I also write fanfic *immodest cough*. It's (kinda) canon, but post BDM.

A lot of times you can go to any profile and type someone's screen name in place of the name or number and that'll work, too. Course, they're case-sensitive so sometimes it doesn't work.

When you are logged in, go to 'My Firefly' and in the url box at the top of the screen, remove your name, and put the name of the author you are looking for, it will take you to their BSR page.

I wish there was a way for us to search by pairing!

Ahh, yes, I usually get very pissed off if there are no warnings in a story and that happens. It tends to turn me off of that author completely.

As far as authors on this site that write cannon pairings, well, I tend to follow more S/K authors but here is a list: Amdobel, Kaynara, Wanmei, frellingBlonde, Kaysky, janafae, sillylittleduck, harriet vane, some of these write other stories as well, but, from what I can remember, mostly they write cannon pairings.
