Well... collected X-men comics back in the day ...and, naturally, when I heard Joss was writing Astonishing X-Men I had to get back on board. We all know Joss's affinity for heroines. So, when I saw Kitty on the scene I surely was not surprised.

In issue #15 there was a strikingly River-like line... I love it!

So... after the X-men are kinda picked off one by one. (with a hilarious Wolverine scene).

Shadowcat gets a lil peeved at the situation, gathers her strength, and says “Now, it’s my turn”! …on the final page of course.

Sooooo River!

Anyone else found any similarities?

...or anyone just wanna say YAY!!!

I loved that line! You can see Joss's aproach to Kitty's character she's no longer this shy little girl who's afraid of her power, she's embrassed it and is ready to do some damage on the people who hurt her friends.

I can't wait for another comic, I hate how its only every two months and only get six issues.

Kitty's stepping it up! Joss is really pulling back the great characters from both sides. His use of comedy makes the stories/characters real again.

I can remember when they were bi-weekly in the summer. But Joss I can wait for. Sort of patiently...

Aha, so that's where.... *ponders*

There was a Virtual Firefly episode (on www.stillflying.net) that contained a scene where River was looking for something to eat. It was death by cuteness - she was rooting around the shelves going "Here, protein protein protein....here, protein protein protein...." Nice to know now where that came from.
