*Pain aimed one of his pistols and shot the creature in the hands. It snarled and screached before blacking out again. Jayne said to Pain*
Why'd ya go and do that for?
*Pain said as he took a hold of the thing by it's neck*
Cause I'm in a gorram ruttin' bad mood. Today was supposed to be a nice day and then I had to deal with this go se.
*Pain walked out of the cargo bay with Mal, Jayne, and Wolf in tow. He held the creature by the neck and threw it with all his might. The creature squealed as it flew through the air and landed with a thud somewhere out of his sight. Pain turned to the Captain and said*
You and JR go finish up with your business with Sybil, me and Jayne will take care of this mess.
*Mal replied*
That's a good plan if'n I ever heard one.
*He walked over to the com said over the shipwide P.A.*
JR get your pigu into the cargo bay ma shong. We got finish the deal with Sybil.
*It took JR a while to enter the cargo bay and when he did he saw all the remains of the mayhem that went on. He said to Pain*
What went on here?
*Pain said a little irratated*
Long story. I'm sure the Captain or Wolf can fill you in.
*Pain looked at Ertia who was still on the floor passed out. He bent down, picked her and Shipscat up and said as he headed for the infirmary*
Now if'n you folks'll excuse me I'm a little tired and angry right now. It'd be best if'n you people left me alone.
*Pain set Ertia down in the exam chair and left the people in the cargo bay to their own devices as he sat down next to Ertia in Simon's chair.*

well, thank god THAT'S over.
Simon enters the infirmary, followed by Fly and Zoe supporting the badly tranqed Wash and stops when he sees Ertia and Pain already there.
"Right." The former trauma surgeon takes charge with calm efficiency.
He gestures Zoe and Fly to get Wash lying down while he checks Ertia's vitals first, and then Wash's. Catching Pain's worried gaze, Simon just says, "Why can't we ever just have a nice quiet visit... anywhere?"
Pain just frowns. Nice new suit. Special reservations. And his girl was a limp rag draped over an exam table. "She gonna be up soon?"
Simon nods. "I'm administering a counter-drug. She'll be up in an hour or so. So will he." He gestures to Wash reassuringly.
"ShipsCat?" Fly asks. The feline is awefully still.
"Yes. But I can't give her the counter-agent. Cats are too fragile." Simon admits, "She'll have to sleep it off. But I'm keeping her in here, away from any excitement."

*Pain says to Simon as he gets up and notices the blood from the creature on his clothes*
Well notify me when she wakes up. I'm goin' to change my clothes again and take a shower.
*Simon nods and says while checking Wash's vitals*
Ok Pain.
*Pain leaves the infirmary with Fly following him. She says as they walk up the stairs*
I'm sure she's goin' to be ok Pain. I just wish I was there to lend a hand.
*Pain raises an eyebrow and says*
Oh did you somewhere?
*Fly swallows some saliva, looks down at the floor and says*
Uh no actually I was in my bunk sleeping off a hangover.
*Pain opened the hatch to his bunk and climbed down the ladder, Fly following him. He said to her*
You've been drinkin' a lot this past week. What's wrong?
*Fly says as Pain takes off his shirt and throws it into the dirty laundry bag*
Well..I uh...I've been a little depressed lately. It seems everyone onboard has someone and I got noone.
*Pain puts on a clean shirt and says as he places a hand on her shoulder*
Don't say that. I'm sure you'll find someone one of these days. Hell you snagged me and we had a good run.
*Fly smiled and said as Pain took off his leg holsters*
Yeah but since then I haven't had noone since and I'm startin' to believe that I never will.
*Pain replied as he put on a clean pair of pants and retied his boots*
Hey don't say that EVER. You'll find someone you'll see. And when you do you two will be inseperable. Now stop thinkin' in the gutter and start bein' the Fly I know and still care about.
*Pain gave Fly a hug as they both exited his bunk. She said to him a little teary*
Thank you Pain you're a good guy, Ertia's a lucky woman to have you in her life just like I was and still am.
*Pain smiled and said as they both headed through the galley and back down to the infirmary*
Hell you're still the one I'd count on in a gunfight Fly. It's me who should be thankin' you.
*He gave her a peck on the cheek and said as he entered the shower room*
Don't beat yourself up Fly you'll find a man sooner or later.
*Pain closed the door, locked it, stripped off his clothes and took a shower.*
