Okay, here's how to post a story to the community:

Write the story in Word or whatever, and then you log in at liveJournal.com cut and paste it into the LJ edit box at http://www.livejournal.com/portal, and choose "ff_friday" from the drop down box under "journal to post in."

If there are any words you want in italics (such as Chinese, emphasis, or ship names) then you would put around them.

You can edit the entry after it's posted by clicking on the icon of a pencil at the top. That way, if it doesn't look the way you want it to look, or if you forget to close an HTML tag or whatever, you can go back in and fix it.
