Serenity Day in less than a month - volunteers still needed

Hey everyone,
I hope you're all having a shiny weekend and to those of us finally finished finals - WE DID IT! To those about to go into finals - good luck.
In case you hadn't heard yet, June 23rd is Serenity Day for those of you buying the DVD and also the date of the Serenity Now/Equality Now charity screenings. If you've ever wanted to spend even a few minutes helping to support/bring back Firefly, now is the time. The next few days and weeks are critical to get the word out to as many Browncoats as possible so that both events are successes.

As Zisker says, if you want more Serenity/Firefly, support Serenity Day:
1. Search for "Serenity" at www.google.com and www.imdb.com on June 23rd.
The former should give us a boost in Google Trends http://www.google.com/trends?q=serenity. The latter should show our interest to movers & shakers who subscribe to IMDBpro.
2. Buy Serenity on DVD on June 23rd (preferably from amazon).
3. Write to Universal around June 23rd to thank them for Serenity 1 & asking for MORE.
4. Attend 'Serenity Now / Equality Now' charity screenings on (or near) June 23rd.

Spamming Universal with email is part of the S-Day plan? Won't that annoy them to hell? Letters are another matter, but email spamming... I dunno...

Agatsu, the email spamming part was one of the disagreements that caused the Serenity Day folks to branch off from the Fireflyfans.net folks.
I say, we write our well-written, shiny letters (I'm doing mine on colored paper- trying to come up with something Firefly gimmicky. Any ideas?) and let the spam-crowd be annoying on their own. *shrug*
Any word on the T-shirts, etc?

I didn't mean spam email - IMHO there's nothing wrong with sending a single well-written email to Universal thanking them for Serenity & asking for more.
I agree letters will have more impact, but do take more effort (particularly for non-US folks like me).

I was hoping that our 11th Hour could design some letterhead type stuff that we could print off and then write the letters on, you know like her guerilla posters... only just a letterhead design.
That'd make shiny writing paper.
There is also discussion within the planning group to have a way to send a postcard that is Fireflyish .. we'll be posting more about that.. keep your eyes open.
This isn't only appicable for the Serenity Day event and those who wish to take part but for the events that are planned all thru the Summer of Serenity and Serenity 'Versary.

And that wasn't what I saw when the split was happening - The disagreement came from something completely different.
The "spamming" is posting on Yahoo! Groups to let more people know that the event is taking place. Not flooding Universal with useless emails. Which, I must say, I feel that I've been painfully clear about in all of my posts and with the website.
