Leighkhol and I were discussing what short stories to write next (we've got plenty of long story ideas in our heads!) and I figured I'd post here and see if anyone else wanted to have any input.

Is there a topic, missing scene from an episode, PWP or something else that you'd like to read?

Please take into account that she and I are only writing CANNON pairings....meaning don't toss us ideas for - uh, a Jayne/Kaylee pairing, for instance. Because it just won't happen.

Tossing out ideas can be fun, and can spark many other ideas, so we figured we'd try to get more people involved:)

Sure, I'll toss out ideas. I'm not sure if any of these have actually been done or not, but whatever.

I didn't do anything with it, but I wouldn't mind seeing someone else do something with Bester's return to shake up Simon/Kaylee. Actually...imagining Simon and Bester confronting each other is making me chuckle. Lots of frustration on Simon's part and a lot of confusion on Bester's.

Also, taking a cue from Empire Strikes Back... If Mal is Han and Inara is Leia, then I wouldn't mind seeing a Lando walking into the picture. If Lando is an old Browncoat buddy of Mal's turned "respectable businessman." Maybe they partner up for a deal, or maybe the Lando character actually contracts Inara for a night or something. Something less life-threatening than "Shindig."

I dunno about anything to do with Zoe/Wash. Maybe have Wash be the one to save the day on a deal that's gone south by actually juggling geese.

Thanks GeekUSA, those were some nice ideas, I especially like the Lando twist (Empire is my fav Star wars! :))

I'd like to see a fic about if Simon and kaylee met under different circumstances. Would he even notice her? Hmm...
Plus, i like the Star Wars based idea. Just don't have any sibling kisses, for the love of Pete!

i know it's technically not canon but it is a popular thing in fanfics i've read, the whole zoe/wash baby.
the thing is they always have her getting pregnant without knowing, pre BDM.
i had the story idea of zoe (post BDM) still wanting to have wash's child (aka artificial insemination/hell, could even be cloning). then i thought of a whole job evolving around the idea of her trying to sneak into an alliance hospital/parenting center.
she's obviously strong enough to be a single mother, and i somehow doubt she would have ethical objections to the idea, but it would be interesting to see the different reactions by the crew to her decision (something makes me think mal would be against the idea).
