When River was saying "She's a liar. She's a liar and no good will come of her." I thought, of course she's talking about Saffron, but then she goes on to say "Jayne is a girls name" and then it hit me-- she was talking about Jayne that whole time! Oh, loved it.

Question is, is she right? Good has come from Jayne right?

I loved the developing Mal / Inara sidestory
and at the end when Mal smiles and says " We got the goods, I call this a win "
a big contrast to the beginning of Serenity where he replied to Jayne saying the same thing " Yeah we win " with a rather self loathing look on his face. Mal may be becoming a little less bitter, I like that.

I loved this scene. I had to watch it a couple times too. River was definitely (in my mind) refering to Jayne through that whole conversation. I was thinking about the Jayne's morality question too. I got the feeling from this ep that Jayne will be changing his ways...to some extent.

it sure was a great episode. lots of good laughs, but one thing really bugged me. i'm guessing everyone has the same copy. the guy who recorded it left his icq on. i can hear the sounds from it. they some how got recorded into the file.
but the episode was great. i love the part with Mal sitting naked on the rock and saying "well... that went well" or something like that.

Also, nice to see Inara getting to be more like part of the crew. So far she has always seemed a bit of an outsider to me. Seems she can be pretty tough when she needs/wants to be.
She will be like Face on the A-Team. And future love spats with Mal will go like, "I USED to be a whore!" (after he calls her a whore).
And Mal starts giving her free rent on Serenity, because she's pulling great con moves for the team. Their relationship blurs and the issues of money vs. love vs. whorin and stealing make for a good story. Especially after we learn she's already slept with Book in the past! Companion's honor forbids Inara from telling Mal who Book really is since Book's identity is protected under Guild law.
Of course, Mal points out that she's not a Companion anymore.
Will Inara reveal the truth about Book?

Intersting Succatash.
So you think Book was a dabbler in the less-than-respectable world of whorin' eh? What makes you think that? When he breaks down and cries in front of her during his confession of uncertainty?

I don't buy it. The scene at the end of Serenity where Inara "blesses" Book after his confession did not have any familarity to it. While I doubt that Book had always been a preacher, or a decent person, I don't think he and anyone on the crew knew each other.
But then, with Joss, one never knows
