For me, it wasn't that I missed Jack, I just felt the stories weren't as good.
I don't think much to the Ori as villains, and the thing that made the first few episodes work was, without a doubt, Vala. Her banter with Daniel was fantastic. I can't wait for next year mainly because she'll be a regular.
Plus I'm a fan of farscape so I was glad to see Ben Browder and Claudia Black together again.
On the whole though, there were too many average episodes and not enough good ones IMO

Quite honestly I did miss RDA's character, Jack O'Neill. He had the best one liners, and his banter w/ the other members of the team kept me laughing.
I do agree w/ you though that the storylines seemed to get pretty thin when RDA left. They got a bit better w/ Ben & Claudia coming aboard, and I agree w/ you again that Vala's interactions w/ the team & primarily Daniel were funny and had that old SG 1 feel to them.
I can't wait to see Claudia back as a regular. I actually missed her recently.

I can understand that - I felt that RDA had the best lines, and his cluelessness (if thats a real word) was often the source of much humour.
But still, I didn't feel "Aww I want Jack back!"
I don't know what it is, but none of the characters strike me as ones I can't live without. Don't know why. I like all the characters (though Carter's technobabble is a bit much) but when Daniel left, I didn't think "Bring back Daniel!". Maybe it was because the characters/actors had been there for a while, and I didn't think "What a waste, there was so much left to explore".
On the other hand, when Jonas left, I did think that.
He certainly was mistreated as a character - as soon as Daniel returned, he was booted.
Couldn't they have least found room for him on Atlantis?
Having said that, the episodes when Daniel did show up in season 6 were highlights.
I don't know. I'm such a contradiction.
Let's just say I don't miss them, but I like it when they return.
