First, welcome!
We've quite a few "spectrumites" here, as in Fireflyfans, and also this house, heh.
I personally don't care what pill pushers technically quantify it, the Vapid Public recognize it as Aspergers, and I think arguing its' existence just serves to confuse the already confused (which I have already argued that to several idiots who now think it was a made up thing all along because they couldn't process the article at ALL) 
. We have to use _A_ name, and while the name itself also is problematic (You have Ass Burgers??! EWWW THEY MAKE A PILL FOR THAT!!) it's already out there. I also think putting it under autism spectrum was slightly redundant, who CAN'T see the resemblance? Should we cater complex diagnosis info to people who can't find their way out of a brown paper sack?? Sometimes I think so. The more the clueless learn about themselves and others the better off we'll alllllll be, so I think that information somewhat needs to be conveyable in easy-to-digest bits.
