The Girl In The Fireplace - easily the best episode of the season, and in my Top Five New Eps for sure.

Fantastic!

And I agree - it's like DT has been in the role for years, he's got it down Just Right.

I love, love, loved this episode. I am now officially hooked. I liked it well enough before, but now I'm a fan.

knowing the doctor can't come back through the portal

just says so much about her charachter and what she feels. Billie Piper done good. Who knew I'd ever say that one?

.... why you gotta play that song so loud? Because we want to, coz we want to......

"Bukkake, Shut up Alison!" Jonny Wallet Tourettes
"Alison, don't you know this world is killing you?" - Nathan Fillion sang me a song!

Now now, just because she is doing a good job acting is no reason to inflict her music on the world again

Just to introduce the right note of dread for the Cybermen, a legendary figure appeared in the trailer

Del: “No it’s because he looks like a horse”

Yeh great episode. It reduced me to tears at the end. When Rose asked The Dr 'are you alright?' the Dr just quips back, with a forced smile 'I'm always alright'. However we all know he wasn't :(. Tenant has give the Dr alot of depth. The Dr falling in love is something we hever see. I can understand though as the Madame Pomferey was very beautiful :)

And apparently Sophia Myles (who played Madame Pomferey) and David Tennant are dating in RL.

As for the ep, well I missed it on Saturday (I struggle to remember its on, I'm so used to nothing being worth watching on saturday night), but I managed to see it tonight.
I didn't think it was "the best episode ever", nor was it as good as last week's ep, but hey, we all have different opinions right?
Having said that, it was still a great episode, with many laugh out loud moments, such as

Select to view spoiler:

The doctor walking in drunk whilst Rose and Mickey are being held by the bad guys. He was just downright hilarious... throughout the episode in fact

I thought the villains of the episode were really creepy too - a mixture of V (in V for Vendetta) and that robot villain from Hellboy
What I was pleasantly surprised by most of all though, was the musical score.
I'm not really a fan of the score in Dr Who - I think it's more distracting and off-putting than anything else, but I thought tonights was perfect... well, not perfect, but certainly a lot better than before.

Of the three episodes I've seen in the new series (I missed episode 2) and the christmas special, I've loved every one. Enough to make me want to buy the big boxset when it is released in November.
And, you know that old thing about your favourite doctor being the one you grew up with, or first saw... well for me, even though I grew up watching Sylvester McCoy and loved Chris Eccleston's performance, David Tennant is my favourite doctor by far!

Lastly...

LMAO!!!

EDITED TO ADD:
One of the best bits of the episode -

The Doctor crashing the party by smashing through the window on his horse, then looking at Pomferey with a proud smirk and giving her a wink. Classic!

Sacre iliac!

I have to take issue with y'all referring to Sophia Myles as Madame Pomfrey.

The character's real name was of course, Madame Cholet.

Oops, my bad.
To be honest, I couldn't remember her name, so I looked at the above posts.
Now I've washed my hands of it, I'll hang my head in shame
