yeah...it was an idea of Joss' to promote the film...
Joss wrote & directed & played the role of the doctor and got Summer Glau to come in quick, before she ran off to start another project, to make the five videos...
then they released the first one at ifilms without an explanation....
and the rest followed about a week or two apart after that (by first one, I mean # 416 (2nd excerpt) came out first...
followed by # 1
then # 22
next # 165
and then finally we saw # 416 (1st excerpt)

very freaky and heartbreaking....

I have a comic shop and my distributor is out of the trade paperback of the comics now. It will be back in stock in a few weeks and I will be ordering one for me and a few for the shop. I had the original comics when they came out but had not seen the series yet so I did not read them and they sold out fast anyway.
I ordered the figures and plan to start stocking the series & movie. I pre-ordered the trading cards that come out soon. I also want a good source for the soundtracks, I have already had requests from folks hearing them in my shop. of course anything else I can find visual companion, books etc. will be added to the lot. Basically I will have a small firefly shrine when I am all done. Yeah I definetly have a problem.

it sounds like my kinda comic book store!
I'm glad you are getting everything...
the comics are really fun, and help to bridge the gap between 'Firefly' and 'Serenity' (but you know that)

P.S. Needy, I started to think no one was gonna get that. I have'nt seen the film either (not that there's anything wrong with that) but I heard that line used on letterman and other comedy shows. For extra points I just used another quote, what's it from?

well I DID see 'Brokeback Mountain' and I liked the reference... I also got the Seinfeld reference.... Popular culture references are a Joss Whedon staple so they always go down well around here (JW being one of the few people I've ever known to slip in 'Watership Down' lines along with Plato...)

Hm, yes. A problem indeed. However, I have the same problem. I just solidified it with tattoos though. I reason it's all for the good.
