Gif animation using Photoshop to create individual frame effects...feel free to steal it, it is about 130 frames. I am working on something better but this is my first stab at it. Simply copy the location to your signature., you do not need to add

Do you know how to make a lightsaber using Photoshop? I saw this picture floating around the internet with a bunch of squirrls fighting with lightsabers in a park and I want to know how to do that.

with making gif animations, everything is done fram by fram so it is a pain, but making a light saber should be no problem with contrails and all, can't do cool sound effects with gif animations :(.

I recommend drawing a light saber and them adding a layer over it to create a lighting effect...it just takes time to learn how to use layers effectivley...for the animation above, I used different levels of "waves" "twirl" "ripple" I created the fade out effect by basically darkening each character in sequence to make it look like it is fading into black. I used a "Lens Flare" on orange background and place "Firefly" base image on top to create cheesy version of the light moving behind it. Put all frames together using Gif animation program. Hope this gives you a better idea of how to accomplish your project.
