According to benchmarks carried out by website GearLog, Apple's MacBook Pro running Windows XP is a better Adobe Photoshop rig than any other Core Duo laptop on the market." GearLog ran the same tests that were run by PC Magazine with the Mac coming out on top."

Mwah haa ha.
I have a PowerBook 15" that's about a year and a half old with 2 gigs RAM and a few extra bells and whistles. It's slicker than glare ice for running Photoshop. Did you want me to pick one up for you to bring in Sept? Wanna convert?

Aztecs used the term firefly metaphorically, meaning a spark of knowledge in a world of ignorance or darkness.

this image has all i have to say on windows on a mac.

Limmi- i just found out the chances of me deploying in september are very good. So i have not got a hotel room, cuz i might not even be going, damn'd AF messing up my plans . lol

Also I was thinking of making CON badges that you could print out in purtty colors and wear in those lil CON holder things some cons give out (idk if S3 will have em)
the holders look like this
http://sail.en.alibaba.com/product/50001686/50021312/Badge_Holders/Cle
ar_Rigid_Holder.html

I'ma start on some Photoshop ideas for the Randomites, and they could easily be modified for the Loofers, whatever groups are coming. It makes use easily idenitfiable to each other!

-edit-
i think i may buy a pack or two of these and i can mail them to whoever wants one

I've been thinking about it for awhile, but since I've got a Laptop for work, my own Laptop that outperforms most desktops and a Desktop that is just stupidly powerfull I can't really justify the expense of even the cheapest Apples which cost £699 over here.

As and when the warrenty and life expectancy of my current laptop expires I may consider an Apple as a replacement machine, unless I can pickup a cheap second hand but reasonably good Apple in the meantime...

Then they can call me CitizenIsThe Five Laptop Man.

That's a shiny idea NOS.

I already have my badge covers and badges from Dragon*Con from last year and my luuverly $5 Browncoat Lanyard, which I plan to bring and wear again to D*C and perhaps S3, so if there are badges, I am totally set. I will of course, bring and wear my official Team Random shirt. Because I am a proud, initiated member of Team Random! *does the TR cheer, if there is one*

No question mark please. I'm bought and paid for.

As for the XP running on Mac....duh, of course it would be better. I've been following that particular event pretty closely. I can't wait to get my Power Mac this summer (hopefully anyway) then this here ibook would be up for grabs ifn someone wanted to test the waters of the mac.

There are Team Random Badges. I think.

Wils: What day are you arriving in the UK for S3? Do you know yet?

My plan is to arrive on the 12th, morningish. I want to take an overnight flight leaving on the 11th. And then leave on Monday the 18th.

And, for all of you that don't have to fly 8hrs or so to get there, when are you planning to arrive in London for S3?

And for you that already live there: when are you planning to be around for fun and festivities?

Anyone want to volunteer to show us around? I must get a day of sight-seeing in.

I know it's early yet, but considering tickets were bought in January, I don't think it's too early to start stetching out plans.

OH! And if we were to take a day or 2 to leave London and see the sights, where are some good places to go, some interesting things to see? Any advice from locals would be most appreciated.

And if anyone wants a pre S3 visit-speak up now!!

(I think that's enough to be getting on with for the time being, so I'm going to be quiet now.)

I was planning on being there before S3. I'd be happy to meet ya at the airport. I volunteer to help with the sight seeing, seeing as I hope to get mine out of the way by then.

All the locals have jobs and kids and stuff to do, so I might be the only person free.
