2010: The U.S. withdraws it's troops from Iran and declares a stalemate. The American draft isn't able to supply enough troops as suicide bombers have killed over 3,900,000 men and women in escalating attacks. Abortion is strictly banned to increase future soldier candidates.
2012: Religious extremists all over the world have excited the masses to riots. Property distruction reaches new levels, and martial law is nearly universal. 100 unmanned fighters roll off the American assembley line (in Mexico). Average U.S. houshold earns $23,000 per year, 3 full time adults working.
2013: America deploys unmanned fighters in 'trouble spots', China admits to orbiting nuclear capabilities.
2014: Nuclear 'briefcase' goes off aboard passenger jet forced to fly over the Pentagon.
World War III begins.
Back to the here and now: Is this a possibility?

I vote for a war between the USA and Europe with China standing back ready to pick up the pieces when the smoke clears.

But I doubt it. 39,000 isn’t that many casualties for a protracted war, historically. In WWII we had near half a million casualties and over 10 million inductees.
