So it's not quite the 11th hour for D*C but The tickets go up after the 15th, so do we wanna get plans in order? How many folk are commited for room spliting purposes? I don't wanna get stuck paying for 5 days of room by myself....

Me, if there's room. If I know I have some place to sleep I can begin to work on the unimportant issues like getting there and the tickets...

The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four persons is suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best friends -- if they're okay, then it's you.

Here's a simple quote from the Hyatt's Atlanta website:

The hotel is sold out during your requested travel dates.

Referring to Sept. 1 - 4.

I'm a wee bit Atlanta challenged. Alternatives? Heh, guess I can start poking around myownself. Still, maybe someone having in little more familiarity with the area can be of more help.

Ok, first Question: Serenity: You already got a room for the girls?
Second: In my past experience with other cons, the con tends to buy all the rooms, then you need the hotel con code to get a room. DCON.
Looks like we have a set of four men folk for a room: Myself, LMD, Citizen, Cozen. If we're there for 5 nights. Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon. nights then that's 1.25 days each might be around $200 just for hotel, Of course if we find more we exchange cost for comfort. The Westin is 1.2 blocks away and likely not sold out, but as I said I doubt Hyatt is really sold out, Proper channels.
Who wants to make the reservation, I'd hate to have 4 different rooms reserved, 'course we could sell those to other 'coats looking for rooms later.

Pay special attenion to note 1 ^ additional taxes. It might be best to call them for the reservation. to discuss the fact we want the international tower low floor etc. and make sure we get the proper rate. that seems a little high to me.

If you know about the rooms and codes and proper channels would you be willing to do it?

Do you have to pay in advance, when you reserve or is it just a deposit you need and then pay up on check in or out?

Can you believe i've worked in a hotel before now and still have no idea how the bloody things work.

Citizen - so far the cheapest fare i've found is with Delta, Manchester to Atlanta (I keep forgetting what their airport is called, somebodys name I think) via Newark, for £428. There is another the same starting from Gatwick for the same price.
I'm pretty sure that there must be cheaper flights available, if you have any ideas can you check and we'll go from there?

I'm off to do a trwal of the highstreet see if anyone there can beat that price, i'll tell you if someone can.

Does anyone happen to know if Deltas prices go up or down the closer yyou get to the travel date?

Edit:ok I just answered my own question, in a few weeks its already gone from £424 to £433.

I love my broher, he's lending me the cash to buy the ticket now and not have to wait until they are five hundred and something before I can get it, yey for brothers!

and yes, as soon as the ticket is booked , that means I am definetly, totally 1000% commited, even If I have to exist on consuite snack foods, I will be there!

*sqeeeeee!* (Serenity that is such a good word!)

Well, it seems they want full payment, and all the info I have, I got from (XanderLHarris) Ash. She already has her room with her folks. I'm unable to drop $1500 for the room at this time. I currently work for a hotel, which is why I think that rate can't be right. I could be wrong. These prices don't even cover parking. Expensive weekend.
Flight info. I don't know. I'm driving from Charlotte. If it's cheaper to fly to Charlotte you can ride with me? The good news is if you fly into Atlanta you can catch the subway (Marta) right to the hotel. I think it's $1.

I'm not entirely sure. I'll go check, but tomorrow. I is sleepy.

Is that figure for all the nights? I take it check-in is 31st of August and check out 5th sept?
or do we check in on the first moring and out right after the con is done? So far i've been basing all the quotes on 31st to the 5th.

As for my share, I can probably send you a hundred (pounds, not sure what that translates to in dollars) I need to sort things out with Serenity, but if you need the money soon, then we can sort it later.

but right now? snuggle socks and beddy bo's. I just witnessed the worst dancing I have ever seen in my life, i'll tell you about it tomorrow, right now i'm off to have nightmares.
Night X
