Just fired off an email to SFUK (and isn't THAT an unfortunate acronym!) to inquire. Thanx for the link, LJC!

That is wonderful!
Scifi UK has been picking up all the smaller shows that Sky One don't seem interested in, I just wish they would get them a bit quicker!
Can I make a suggestion? Please take two minutes to send an email via the site http://www.uk.scifi.com/main.asp and ask them if it's true/congratulate them on being sensible.
I am actually considering getting myself some ripping tech to share these eps with the US folks if this actually happens before it airs over there.

UPDATE:
I got a response from SciFi:
Quote:
Dear Tabitha,
Unfortunately @ this time I cannot confirm this rumour, though it was a show
that we were investigating.
Please keep an eye in the channel for future updates regarding new shows.
Kind Regards
Duty Officer
Sci-Fi
Still hopeful over here.

Tabitha and y'all;
This is, word for word, the same response I got from SFUK. A mite dismayed by the past tense ("were considering..."), but heartened by the non-committal "cannot confirm" language. Never let it be said that I'll leave a straw un-clutched for our beloved Firefly!
Here is a reply I sent, for your edification and, if you like, modification:
Thank you so very much for taking the time to respond to my inquiry so
quickly. I do hope that "Firefly" has not been dismissed as an option.
It was, in the opinion of many, only an inexplicable cascade of
questionable decisions on the part of the Fox network here in the US
which prevented this gem of a program from capturing the large and loyal
viewership which it abundantly deserved.
Run-on sentences aside, though, I respectfully add my voice to the ranks
of those who would see "Firefly" given another chance. I understand that
the production of NEW episodes is not even remotely on the table.
However, airing the three unaired episodes, and in general exposing the
show to another round of viewers can only be to the good. Given a proper
time-slot, and appropriate level of promotion, I think you (and your
sponsors!) will be pleasantly surprised by the response.
Just some thoughts for your consideration, in complete understanding
that any on-going negotiations must remain obscure to the public. I
shall continue to scan your site regularly for any whisper of news.
Keep hopin'...um...FLYIN'!

Now all we need is a Browncoat in the UK to get them into a downloadable format for us less fortunate Yanks.
