Actually, I'd hoped for something along those lines for the BDM. I was thinking some kind of pre-quel might be really cool. Show how Mal and Zoe came up with the money for the ship, how Book ended up being a preacher, how Simon first found out that things weren't right for River, etc... You'd want to avoid the really bad contrivances ala SW I, II and III, but if done well it could have been really cool. Still could be I suppose and it'd be a neat way to get Ron Glass and Alan Tudyk back in the picture as well.

Thank you..all of you for your comforting responses.
I was really wondering if I was just going crackers. It's nice to know that other folks were as sad as I was(am)
Also, it's noce to know that I'm not alone in my ambivilance for the movie. The series was bloody brilliant..an emotional firecracker. Joss made you love them...in the movie..it sort of felt like Joss was this angry, frustrated child taking it all out in cellulolid. It lacked substance.
Now, don't get me wrong..it had great action..but then Mr Universe showed up and I was just dissapointed. I just saw so many little moments that the movie had the potential to emotionally hook a person into the story and they missed it.
I can't imagine seeing it before the series..I'm not sure how I would have really felt.
And believe me..it's kinds hard to say anything bad about even the movie, with the way I feel about Firefly. I love that crew like they were my own..I just felt let down.
I understand why..but that doesn't mean I have to like it.
Well, thanks for letting me get my 2 cents in.
I still just miss Wash..and Book..(I think he could have had a much more meaningful death)
I dunno..it's silly but I miss that warm funny place in the 'verse almost as much as my grandmum's house on a sunny Sunday mornin..it just felt a lot like home.
